I'm actually from the island of Mindanao in the Philippines, and there are like 50 of these trees near our house, they are pretty tall here.

Are falling branches as big of a hazard as rumors say?
@Jwace152 жыл бұрын
They are pretty strong, it's quite rare for the branches to fall. If the tree is planted near a road, then it would be a safety hazard, but if it's not in the way of anything, then there's nothing to worry about.

i have about 20 of these in our 5 acre garden, north queensland, they grow very well here, over the years i have planted trees from colder drier climates that i fell in love with, none did well, one survived about 10 yrs grew to 2ft, if i was you i would seek out a beautiful tree that loves your environment, it will give you much more pleasure than watching your deglupta struggle through the years..

Can I grow this here in South Australia? How often should I water it? Is it even legal here? I saw a website saying it wasn't but I think that's wrong. How do I stop it from getting really big? Can I keep it in a large pot? Can I just throw the seeds in some dirt and be done with it, or do I have to do stuff with the seeds before I plant them?

It seems that in Australia you can just shove them in the ground, water then & forget about them,we don't always have the extreme temperatures of Arizona on the east coast in the summer but they do tend to grow in the Kimberleys in the North of Western Australia where there's water but not as many of them is found in the desert on the west coast of the country. Western Australia has a low to high pH soil just like Arizona does so the native plants such as the Sturts desert pea & the Kangaroo paw flower has different soil requirements to what the native plants do in New South Wales for example,they prefer a slightly acidic soil whereas eucalyptus trees prefer a 5 or 6 ish soil pH. El Nino & the very hot 45°C (113°F) temperatures have killed off some of the eucalypts & we have a low to moderate pH soil in my area, while the eucalypts can handle very dry soils some of them haven't taken the last 2 summers where it got extremely hot & dry. On my parents property they actually grow on bugger all soil because their property is sitting on glacial Rock. We're in La Nina now & like I said in one of the last video, I now have 3 iron bark eucalyptus tree seedlings planted in pots as last summer it got that hot that the seeds split that fell in with my mango 🥭 seedling pots. When the plants were watered the seeds germinated !

I am reading conflicting info, can I plant this at the edge of my very grassy lawn about 8 ft away from the fence and another 10 ft from the road and an electrical box? I read first that roots go down, then that they are shallow. I read they help the soil and now I read they drain it of water and nutrients. I have a small orange tree about 15 feet to the right of where I plan to plant. Also, I like my grass. Need to know asap since I ordered one today!

Maybe you can give me a definitive answer i cant find online about rainbow eucalyptus. I make knives as a hobby, stone knives with natural wood handles that are unshaped, essentially just a 1.5ish inch diameter section of branch. I’ve been looking for just a single piece of rainbow eucalyptus that would be around that diameter but anything close I can find doesn’t have the vibrant bark color. Does the color not show up until a certain age or thickness? I appreciate any light you can shed for me. Lovely tree you have there
@robmontgomery97115 ай бұрын
i read the colors do NOT show up when used in woodworking...its a basic pulp tree.if you were to make something out of the wood it would NOT be colorful.

Will they grow into giant monsters in Florida? I love them and have a small (3 foot) one, but want to try to keep it around 20 feet tall. I thought I could do so through pruning, etc. But I really don't want a huge 200 foot monster.

Mine is turning all different colors too, should be no issue. I feel we have much better genetics than his just by basing off our coloring alone compared to his. Mine is only about 6ft tall and has such beautiful colors on the leaves/branches. They also turn red when they shed them, (which is normal)

Apparently they look less vibrant in cooler areas. I went to Baguio in the Philippines and didn't noticed the entire road were rainbow eucalyptus. I just though the trees looked weird. Read an article later saying those were rainbows. I went there during the cool season and so the trees just look mottled brown.
