Muchova played so well and came so close, congrats to her and her team! In a way, it is better that she came second. There is less pressure for her going forward. We have seen how players can nosedive after a first grand slam win. She made a lot of new fans these last weeks.

The whole match was an emotional rollercoaster 🎢 Iga was playing so well first set, ball landing bang on the lines, Muchova struggled to get into rhythm, made many errors and gave away many free points. Second half of second set, maybe Iga felt she had control and was getting closer to winning, forehand started to smash too hard, ball was flying everywhere. Muchova was playing more carefree, improved significantly - stamina was there, ball hitting was sharp and clean, had so much variety in her game. The running, the drop shots, she was so good. It was obvious that Iga started crumbling a bit - she seemed frustrated, getting rushed and anxious, started spiralling down. But then what makes someone a champion? How do the greats win? They calm down, they regroup, they come back. Final set she still struggled to hold serve, her first serves weren’t landing, but she kept her composure, became more strategic with which shots to chase for. She still trusted her own forehand, wasn’t scared to take risks and go big. We often see her bagelling opponents at earlier rounds, she was never tested or pushed to the limits, so we rarely see her emotions exposed. This time she had to dig deep, had to really work her way back up from the bottom, and reminded us how true champions fight. You may not be playing your best game, but your intelligence and mentality brought you your victory. To me her body plays like Rafa and her mind thinks like Novak. Well done Iga, what a player 🎉

After the first set and in the middle of the second, everything was going in one direction, but finally Karolina woke up and we saw a good match. Congratulations to Iga and Karolina.

Fascinating final. I am glad that despite being pushed hard Iga came on the top regardless, showing how great clay player she is. A true champion who wins at good or bad day. Great match and a Great performance by Swiatek to win that.I genuinely thought she was done early in the third set but she seemed to regain her form after that and got the job done.Hopefully this is just the start for Muchova and she can continue to perform at that level going forward and get to latter stages of more grand slams. 4 grand slams for Swiatek now and she seems hungry for more unlike Osaka and Barty. Hopefully she pushes on and gets to double digit grand slam titles.

OK... I'm not what you could call a real tennis fan; much less a tennis expert. But I'm so glad that, despite being Polish, I was able to approach watching this final just telling myself "this is gonna be such a great match and whoever wins, I'm going to be happy" rather than "Iga, you have to win this". I had just been so impressed by Karolína's spirit and variety in the semifinal (and I was so grateful to her for not having to see - or hear - Sabalenka in the final). And boy, this final had everything I was hoping for. I was even kind of rooting for Karolína, thinking: if she has to be beaten, I don't want this to be another lopsided scoreline, because that wouldn't do her justice. After she lost the first set, I wanted her to win the second, and she did. And then, seeing Iga visibly frustrated at the beginning of the last set, I thought: alright Iga, if you really are the great champion we all want to believe you are, this is the time to show it. And she did. And Karolína... please win Wimbledon. Iga's not as good on grass ;-D

The fight between these two very talented players was so interesting and engaging as we could expect from the final match.. Unfortunately, the highlights did not show much of it. They were much poorer in comparison with Eurosport´s previous presentations during French Open.

What a treat from the WTA! Both grand slam finals this year were outrageous tennis! The AO final was a masterclass of power tennis with neither giving an inch until Ryba finally blinked at the very end. RG was sensational skill from both, again ending only when Iga found that 0.0001% extra right at the very end.

half of thought is a shame for Muchova for the end of the match because she played a really incredible tournament and in a Grand Slam final against the number world 1 she recovered from a very big disadvantage and she was, in the peak, near to win the match, you can see Iga at the end of the match was making errors but also was like "please end this match cause i can't take it anymore", so is half a shame she couldn't win but on the other half i wished was Iga to win her 3th Roland Garros so i'm half happy. Also, is a sham that even with the final Muchova isn't still in top-10 but only 16 in the world (if she had won she would be 10 in the world), but in any case i think this is a new start for Muchova, also because she was injured a lot of times, so i wish for her a really good season, also on the grass and Muchova is rwally good on grass (one last thing: Muchova is soooo good in the volleys and at the net, i think one of the best in the tour/ or even the best on that field, i was really impressed!!)

Deserved win for Iga! Muchova was very close. I would even say in semis - Hadid-Maia was very close too... Iga had to dig deep everytime and luckily, somehow, she found precision and power to push little bit more. In my opinion it was already too much in terms of fitness and mental strentgh for her opponents. Good thing is that Iga usually wins the first set and has the handicap of it, second she can put the fifth gear and stay calm after loosing the 2nd set. This is where Sabalenka failed. Sabalenka was in the same situation with Muchova and she didn't manage mentally I think.. She thinks too much about beeing the number 1 in the world and beating Iga Świątek. I hope she will need to wait much much longer. Fingers crossed for Iga @Wimbledon
