Have you seen 'Calvary'? Chris O'Dowd is amazing in it. Be warned: it's not a comedy and it's heart-rending but it shows you how good an actor he is. Brendan Gleeson is also amazing.

Chris O'Dowd was excellent as a guest star (opposite Katherine Parkinson) on DOC MARTIN. It was the season finale of the second season (I think) that was on around the same time as THE IT CROWD. Also: Don't forget the three season of the show MOONE BOY. O'Dowd was the creator, writer and star. It's kind of a "Derry Girls" show before Derry Girls.

Richard Ayoade, that guy... It seems like Moss is an extension of him as an actual person, aspects of himself... I know all actors pull on their own experience and their work is pieces of themselves, but Richard is one of those guys who when you see him in real life it just makes you happy Moss is real lol.

I think the fire was caused by someone who was lied to with that same story, “Parents died in a fire at Sea Parks.” And the person was so obsessed wether the scenario was even possible, they went to a Sea Parks to test it and made it happen for real, hence Roy’s girlfriend being orphaned
@StephMcAlea

Ayoade's best work is 'Garth Marenghi's Darkplace', 'Travel Man'*, 'Man to Man with Dean Learner', and 'Nathan Barley'. *Travel Man is Richard's travelog where he takes famous friends for a weekend away somewhere fun. 'The Greg Davies to Moscow' and 'Paul rudd to Iceland ' episodes are genius.

@@GHar94 We don't know why she chose to mention her parents at all, but the most likely reason for the lie is that she doesn't want to talk about them. For some great Ayoade action, check out his shows 'Gadget Man' where he basically reviews new techy things in a very Ayoade way, with guest stars, and 'Travel Man' where goes off to all kinds of places in Europe (mostly) for weekend getaways on a budget, with guest stars. Interesting and hilarious. Also, could you squeeze in the 'Out takes' video for IT Crowd as a final episode, it's long enough and soooo funny. ❤
