We are all used to wearing jeans, regardless of age. Even the older generation prefers this type of clothing with pleasure. If previously jeans were mostly blue, now they come in a variety of shades.
Worn-in jeans have a lot of creative potential. Worn fabric looks especially attractive and is suitable for various alterations. Few people throw them away; most likely they fold them up and then use them for rework.
I have collected scraps of different colors, I will sew a bag in the patchwork style from them.
First, I cut 10x10 cm squares. There are 18 pieces for one side.
When sewing this way, the main thing is that all sides are equal and the corners are right. To do this, it is better to cut out a cardboard template and cut out squares on it or use a transparent patchwork ruler.
First I sewed strips of 6 parts. Then I sewed these strips together. I smoothed out all the seams.
The result was two blanks. Between them I sewed a bottom, 20 cm wide.
To make the bag tough, you can press non-woven fabric onto the wrong side.
I sewed handles from brown jeans and stitched them to the bag at a distance of 18 cm from each other. The length can be short or long.
Then I folded the bag in half. I cut out 6x6 cm squares in the corners.
I stitched the side seams, folded the corners and stitched, thereby forming the bottom.
I sewed the lining for the bag using exactly the same dimensions. I put the lining inside and stitched along the edge.
For the fastener, I sewed a detachable zipper between the denim, the width of this part is the same as the width of the bottom. She put it in her bag.
I finished the edges with brown tape.
Thanks to this clasp, the contents of the bag are closed, and there is enough space inside for shopping or other things.
And since it is made from denim, it will be durable and wear-resistant.
All the best!
