Most mental sports such as chess, poker, and memory competitions are dominated by people in their 20s and 30s, just as in physical sports. It is rare for someone in their 40s to regularly beat the younger players. Brad is not nearly the player he was ten years ago.
@seanfennel48454 жыл бұрын
@@urbanlegendsandtrivia2023 Brad just won a tournament like 2 years ago. His mind is fine. He did so poorly because A: these were an entirely different level of clues than they usually use and B: he couldn't adapt to James's fast on the buzzer and huge daily double style of play as well as Ken did. You could see him in the first game of each episode frantically trying to buzz in and almost never getting it. You could also see him basically giving up during each second game because what was the point when he was guaranteed a quarter million for showing up and it was a clear two man race. The level of competition between James and Ken, and the show of absolute brilliance and intelligence Ken put on, made going back to regular Jeopardy hard to digest. These guys were throwing down true daily doubles at every chance they had and wagering massive points on final Jeopardy, missing very few answers, and attacking the high values against each other from the start. Brad was unfortunately out of his league, and his record earnings was the result of winning many high dollar championships rather than hitting consecutive game streaks like Ken and James. But it was still by far the most interesting Jeopardy tournament ever, and I’ve been watching the show since the mid-90s. Tough to go back to $500 wagers on $2000 in final Jeopardy!

All 3 sincerely are the #JeopardyGOATs but like Highlander, there can truly only be 1, congrats to Ken Jennings, one smart dude indeed! #AlexIsTheGOATHost!!!

Alex is a legend and will forever be a part of Jeopardy, but I would love to see Ken become the new host. That would make the transition easier for long-time fans. RIP, Alex!

I'm pretty sure Ken beat him in the IBM challenge (of course they both lost to Watson).

Ken Jennings can’t play again since he is hosting. There should be a GOAT rematch with Brad, James, Matt Amodio, and possibly Amy Schneider as well with Ken as host.

That warmed my heart. I love Alex Trebek. And I love seeing the passing of the mantle to the next generation.

Ken deserved it. After being the underdog for UTOC and BOTD this was the moment he was waiting for.

The biggest irony in all of this: Ken Jennings wins the G.O.A.T. in the exact same fashion he lost the Battle of the Decades to Brad Rutter! Poetic Justice Indeed!

It was so risky of Ken to risk nothing, especially since James went all in (as he usually does) but glad it paid off for Ken!
@tylerthepianoman46864 жыл бұрын
I think Ken knew that James would bet everything, so it was actually a smart choice. Because even if Ken and James doubled their score, James would've won overall. So all Ken could do was make sure that he doesn't lose money by betting nothing and hope James gets it wrong. It ended up working.
@NickTheEnlightened4 жыл бұрын
Not really. It's the same strategy James used in his losing game to Emma, where Ken was counting on James answering wrong since he knew he could not catch James by doubling up normally.

I still think that in the standard format with random contestants Holzhauer is the GOAT. His hyper aggressive strategy is just so difficult to beat and it really allows him to run up the scores on the average jeopardy contestant.
