It's more or less just because the last one was probably steel and the torches don't get hot enough to melt it, so after it cools down your back at the start so its not about the strenght of the lock but rather the material

The time to try to open the locks is when they are glowing hot. Use a screwdriver and push the body down from the shackle.

Careful doing that with the master lock, I think it is galvanized so you need good ventilation and a respirator because the fumes are poisonous.

Tbh, I've seen videos where they do the wrench part Without using the torches. So that seems like an extremely impractical way to open a lock. Fire hazard for nothing.
