This has always been one of my favorite Japanese movies. It's so heartwarming and uplifting. Especially since Sawako always tried her best to help people.

Ikr!! I love how heartwarming everytime Kazehaya and Sawako are talking. It's just beautiful. Even there's no kiss scenes, I can feel the romance and I think the movie portrayed the characters and theme so well. Do you have recommendations of other Japanese movies worth to watch?

@Clay1404 exactly. she's not scary at all. people are just dumb to call her scary just cause her hair is similar to a famous ghost and she's always looking dead serious. if she had just tied her hair everyday, no one would think she's scary at all.

In the anime they imagined her with different styles and colors but she was still scary looking. In the manga and anime it’s mainly her face that’s scary because she doesn’t smile much and the way she talks sounds scary to others. I don’t know why this version made her hair seem to be the creep factor when it’s actually her exterior overall

it sounded like Sayako to me, also he prounounced Ayane as A-yane like Diane instead of A-ya-ne...but I think he's using a text to speech app that's why there's issues with the pronunciations

i think her hair was her safety blanket. although she was seen as creepy she could also hide behind it so she never cut it.

It might be. Also, the drama is an adaptation of a manga/anime "Kimi Ni Toddle". In the manga, she said that she felt that longer hair would make her look more feminine, as she likes girly things.
