I love how the player can jump into the pool and get “a little wet” but the rain downpour was just too much.

I love how the whole homeowner and his ex-wife plotline ended up going nowhere. It confused me at first cause I thought it was Roy's ex-wife or something but no that had nothing to do with it

The fact it's just a crazy woman with a knife and not a monster or ghost or some other supernatural entity makes it scarier.

You just never know that someone, or something is watching you. Waiting for you to slip up at any given moment...

I l ove how everytime "Shift to sprint" comes up in a video game, Manly repeats it with an upward inflection, suggesting that it's his first time seeing it lol

Yandere fans when an insane girl breaks into their house in real life. I really love that this game is more open world than it really needs to be.

I swear the TV shows are like fever dreams. EDIT: Nearing the end of the video and wow. Love the little touches the dev put into the surroundings of the house! Some of them were obvious, like the knocked over camera equipment, but I had to do a double take on the missing knife in the kitchen when Manly was turning off the oven.

I love that at the end of the game when credits are rolling, the bike is still laying in the middle of the street down at the corner where Manly hit that sick flip.

Its a cool little detail that after she enters the house, the knifeboard in the kitchen goes from having three knives to two

When you check the kitchen camera and there are two knife handles where there were three, that's incredibly effective. (I don't know why people keep knives out and visible for home invaders to grab. Keep them in a drawer!)

i'm housesitting for my grandma right now, and my stomach literally dropped when you explained the game's premise

To be fair, I also thought "just leave" was a solid strategy. I can't account for the protagonist's crippling fear of public roads.

This is the kind of horror which I like. I love this kinda slow build up. It's not 90% jumpscare bs.

Fears to Fathom series is actually some of the most disturbing games because the fact that it likely happened (since it's based on a true story but not really able to fact check) and it could happen to anyone, by anyone really gives me the creeps

Manly's story of how his father was almost jumped by people waiting at his house makes me question if his father had some sort of underworld dealings.

A girl with a knife coming for you, typical yandere situation but in this style makes it creepier!

Manly talking about how his dad has a ton of weird stories is so relatable because my dad is exactly the same way. He's always told me and my siblings weird tales about his life, like how in his time in the Navy the ship he served on was supposedly haunted by the spirits of deceased sailors. He never really believed it but a couple of the guys he served with swore up and down that ghosts roamed the halls at night: continuing to carry out their duties even in death.

I really feel like this is the first FtF game to drop the pretenses that these are true stories. And I love that. Between Backrooms Level Laundry Dimension, and the pee thing this one is just leaning into the goofiness.

Reuniting with the flashlight was rather heartwarming

This really makes me have to wonder about liminal horror. What’s scarier, being lost in a place that should be occupied, or exploring one and discovering suddenly seeing someone and wondering if you should act on it.

It's a really unique idea tho. They just ask us all kinds of real terrifying stories, and make them into a game. So people can experience what the victims feel in that situation.

Listening to Manly's story from his dad in the start there - yiiiikeeees. Parents and grandparents always have some really disturbing stories. My granny, rest her soul, had one that honestly sounds like shit from a horror movie. Trailer parks, pregnant neighbors, storms from hell itself, and an escaped murderer from the nearby prison... An idea tho? It'd be cool to have a wee episode where you talk to your dad about his horror experiences for the channel. I think people might enjoy it? I certainly would myself at least.

Seems strange that the easiest solution is to grab the dog, throw them in the security camera room and push the couch against the door. I mean, then you wouldn't have a game to play but still. I can sympathize with the protag. I tend to be overly paranoid when I'm home alone and have basically done that.
