The feeling I get from Arknights is that the Developers, or atleast a big part of the developement team are playing themselves especially with the Vice President of the studio having his OCs in it. But I don't get why people hate on the story and storytelling so much as someone who has consumed a lot of media in the form of books, video games and movies, I find it very refreshing

At this point, the only mobile game I am willing to play is anything that is touched only by Hypergryph. A real endgame content and a game that is willing to push you to your limits because it respects your intellect as a player. I hope ENDFIELD comes out as good as Arknights.

Forget the "gacha" part, Arknights is one of my favourite games period. It's the only game that has managed to keep me regularly coming back without any kind of social or PvP aspect, just the resource management that comes from being a F2P on a gacha game with the challenging and fun gameplay that HG has mastered so well. The worldbuilding and story also make me love this game, but I agree that the word count is a bit too high. If you dropped me in a deserted island and told me I could only take one game with me, I would probably pick Arknights (assuming I get regular updates, of course lol).

The thing that I love about Arknights is their level design. As Kylo had shown, even 3-star operators *remains viable* to defeat even boss stages. While META and certain niche operators can make a stage laughably easy, you are actually pushed to use both your brain, creativity, and also challenging your intimate knowledge of the game's mechanics to clear their most challenging stages. But they did it in ways that allows 3-stars and 4-stars operator to clear it (even if it requires several trial and errors). Oh, and another thing is Arknights' approach to their affection rate, or 'Trust', with your operators. Where other gachas would have their characters fall over heels romantically with the player, Arknights did not. There are operators who may show hints that they like you, but most of the time they open up more about themselves to you. Their troubles, their secrets, and other things that only those they *Trust* are privy to. It feels more... organic, ya know? It shows that these operators has their own 'lives' and preferences, not everyone will automatically like the players romantically.

Ah 7-16 one of that hard stages that can be done with a blue woman only, same goes for 70% of story. Damn i love Ling.

To me, the storytelling is the part why I started the game. Before I started Arknights I read some stories in the storie reader. The Arknights stories have so much I miss in current literature, they have a lot of ideas I really like, likeable charakters etc. Of course, there are surely people who don´t like the style. The only thing taht frustrated me was when I could not finish event stories because I can´t finish a stage. To me, the storie is absolut pro.

I think the reason why many consider Arknights to be generous stems from the fact that while the gameplay is hard, once you sit down and actually try to understand the mechanics and stages you can get away with a lot. You aren't required to bring 12 six star operators to clear a stage. There are many content creators that dabble in different ways like clearing using only 3 stars, 4 stars, 5 stars, units given for free or restricting themselves to certain races or factions. Sure there are many operators you can consider weak but I'd say that there's very few that you can call bad or useless.

i'm kinda glad the point where Arknights is right now, almost like Blue archive the fanbase isnt too big neither is it too small and is well known amongst other gachas. i would prefer it to be more widespread and popular but considering how that ruined the hoyoverse games in general i think i'd prefer it being this hidden gem kind of game waiting to be discovered

I started playing Arknights almost two weeks ago, before i only listened to music from this game and when i discovered gameplay i was a bit frustrated coz its not my type of genre, but my curiousity took over me and i decided to give it a try, downloaded nox on my pc and started the game, at first it was kinda easy and everything was obvious, then i hit my first little wall when i tried to complete mission on 3 stars and i couldn't, i pulled some banners, got 3 6 stars i don't know if i'm lucky but they helped me to clear stages. I thought that if i lvlup my Archetto i'll be able to clear any stage. And i hit THE WALL on 2-7. I wasted an hour in attempts of preventing those flying cheaters rushing through my defences and all in vain. Game forced me to go to farm some resouces and upgrade my operators. After entire day of lvling and adjusting my team comp i was ready to beat this stage and i did after 5 tries or smth. Thats when i fell in love with Arknights. Finaly some simple but challenging game in the same time. Second big wall was a 3-8, without few days of grinding and promoting my operators i couldn't live this boss stage, i had to get good healer and i got lucky in recruitment with 5 star Paprika that carried my ranges. So far now i'm stuck on simple missions(can't complete on 3 stars) and i'm not rushing my progress, trying to upgrade my operators, waiting for next banners, still need good second healer and aoe dmger. So far enjoying the game

beside the God tier musics, imo Arknights has the most vast of lore & world building i've ever seen ether in games, movies, or series!

I tried to play Arknights a couple days ago but towards the end of the final download i ran out of storage on my phone (64 fucking gigs😭) and gave up but after watching this I’ll just delete my downloaded songs on spotify. The main thing that sold me was difficulty and fuck ton of story cause long ass dialogues are for some reason really enjoyable to me

Just started playing Arknights a couple of months ago. It's such a slow progress that I'm still building my characters and I can't really play the harder contents yet. But it might be also my fault cause I am building 500 characters at once and trying to max out my main, Thorns, first. I don't look up guides 95% of the time as I love figuring things out by myself, although one time I had to look up why certain enemies were so tanky... and I discovered arts damage lol. For guides, I broke away from my stubborn self and would look up guides _only_ for time-limited events if they're on their last day and the weekly annihilation thing (which I put on hold for a long time cause I thought my characters were too low-leveled). I don't really like wasting too much time on the weekly thing, I'd progress as far as I could get only to get fricced by some random type of enemy that I had no idea about. Guides are kinda con, but they help players like me understand some mechanics of the game or enemies. I don't even follow them 100% most of the time. Plus, it's the players' choice anyway.

Besides the story telling I'd like Arknights to improve its presentation as well, since most of the times what you do in stages feel disconnected from the story that is behind walls of text.

Personally my thing with guides is that I only watch them if I just absolutely don’t know what to do and have attempted the same stage like a dozen times with no progress. And even then when I do watch a guide, I don’t try to mimic it cuz tbh at the end of the day, it’s too big of a hassle to fully replicate their video, so instead I use guide videos as inspiration to see what works and try implementing some of the strats from the guide in my own clear.

A correction to some parts of the video(I’ll add more if I spot them after combing through the video): -Limited gachas are **four** times a year, not two. They do give you 24 pulls for a head start though, so not like it’s all bad.

The online guides are optional, when I not have time is a great time-saver, also if you get stuck. When I can, I try to solve the puzzle myself. Feels great to beat difficult content.

I don't feel stressed out about Arknights gacha which is also one of the biggest thing for a gacha game. I just need 1 and that's it, all i need is to upgrade them using material from regular stage which don't get time gated by weekly or monthly reset and I can just enjoy them fully no need for duplicate/star level/weapon which requires you to do more gacha 🤮 The story is really good but just too long. If the story is 6-8 hour long I hope they shortened it to 4 hour.

My personal rule for AK guides : only use a guide if it’s the last day/hours of the event and you really want the rewards right now. Main content stays forever, and limited events return after a while and become permanent as well, so there’s no true rush to complete the maps. Give it a try. Fail. Adjust your strategy. Fail again. ....Fail clearing CCB#1 70 times in a row like me even though it worked just fine with a barely lower risk. Then look up a guide. 😂 Also I don’t think there’s a single track I dislike in AK. ❤ they really are a music company lol (Am I the only one who like the overly long visual novel way AK presents its story? My friends skip it because "it’s long, not dubbed’ and in English" but come on! I almost want them to print and release rhe story in book format 😂)

Totally agreed with this vids, been playing AK for one full year and i've been experiencing all the stuff i've never felt in other gachas, the challenge, music, operator voices, CC event, IS, art, and main story just perfect. F2P is very viable, the gap between CN and Global is kind of a win to me because we can save for 6 month but the "slow start" is almost the reason why other player stop playing AK

the battle system is good too, the amount of phletora that anyone can use to finish a stage is amazing. if you put 100 players to finish one stage, they probably finished it differently

Arknights have probably become my favorite game, and i've spend like 1000+ hours over the past 15 month playing and reading through all the stories and stages in the game. I've never stuck with a single game for more than 200 hours before, so that says a lot. Integrated Strategies is the greatest gamemode ever and they should never get rid of that

I think the only reason why arknight really floped in EN region is because Yostar did not done very well at advertising the game while most of the gacha player base prefer genshin/ HSR bcs hoyoverse advertise them pretty well . Another thing is that most of the newbie of the game in the year 3/4 get filtered by the sheer dificulty of the game which make them quit very soon( Im looking at you TR-15 and 3-8, 6-5)

I played Arknights for a long time, I skip all story since i dont read much ( well the anime will just help me recap it) though I only read frost nova's story and lore only. overall, 5 pulls per week, plus more with its never ending events. Its good. especially the reward given to us by GOD'S HANDS LOWLIGHT SAMA!!!

simply said they put variety and effort on most aspect of the game, you can love arknights solely from the music/gameplay/story/character even the gamemode keeps being cooked fresh with new mechanic and workaround consistently and often, something i would be too naive to hope from other gacha game

I will say while others aren’t a fan of the future power creep, it does help reinforce a point I heard someone make. That the gacha can act as an organic difficulty slider. Genshin for 2.5 years and I grind the fck out of everything wasting my time like a loser in life. I'm so done with Hoyoverse and their shit. Now I'm stable with a job but not much time for gaming, Arknights is the only mobile game worth playing.

3:00 hell nah. This "infinite crafting" is hella ineffective. This game almost never has a point where you don't have SOME materials to gather. And these materials worth a lot than those 20 orundum so most players won't recommend you to spend your sanity on farming just for this crafting. Even if you dedicate your whole base for this, you'll still be losing a lot more than gaining

Ah, yes, the music company that made a videogame to promote their music. Honestly, music was what initially pulled me in and kept me in the game. It's very good, and fits very well.

I'm the guy who looks up guides for almost every stage, and it's mostly cause I don't have time to try and beat it on my own, and o really regret it cause for me this game just became character collecting simulator. Still love it, and I can't wait when I get the time for it to try and beat some hard stages on my own

The text-based storytelling is extremely tedious and a big time sink when you're starting a new event. I probably need to just use the skip feature more often. They have some great character building and some of the elements are very good, but they also take 5x as long to say a single thing and there's reams of "empty" speech in every story segment. As a side note, the character based EPs are almost all amazing and excellent side content (at least for a spotify playlist). The extra content like the manga and Synesthesia concerts are another level too - still waiting on CDs and blu-ray editions though. Just wish the anime had the same style and verve as the event trailer videos (anime also suffers from being too wordy and static).

As a long time Arknights player returning to the game after a period of massive burnout, here's my two cent. The gameplay loop is its one absolute highlight, the amount of ways you can approach the levels is incredible from braindead to excruciatingly difficult to execute. And there are levels, a lot of them, where you will bash your head against the wall for tries on end because the game actually requires the player to... well, play the game, and play it well. But the story... From March 2020 to August 2023, the time span during which I first played the game, I read every single piece of content the game provided (and only that so no manga, third party media or whatever). It is something I do NOT recommend doing no matter what type of player you are. You will experience issues of varying scale, be it that it's too long, bloated, poorly sentenced, messy, sometimes plain boring... My personal biggest gripe was the world building going in 5 different directions at once and leaving the primary narrative hook of the game down the drain. For example, this lead me to forever despise anything related the the Abyssal Hunters story line, it's completely removed from anything else despite including a world ending threat, said threat has bullshit properties to be threatening and the protagonists are utterly broken supersoldiers, most of which have about as much charisma and motivation as a plank of wood for maximum boredom. My point being, play the game, it's fantastic, but do not read the story unless you're invested in the characters present, it's a very taxing experience with much to offer and much more to take away from your sanity, especially if you're too observant for your own good because there are narrative issues galore to be found.
