in the books Cersei expresses bafflement at how her sot of a husband could inspire such loyalty from everyone. He would be laying siege to a lord's castle one day, drinking with that lord that night, and by the morning they'd be best friends and that lord was ready to follow Robert into battle. She just didn't understand that people like her husband because he is simple. He likes fighting, drinking, and girls. Nobody had to guess what would make him happy and what would make him angry, you always knew what to expect from him, how to work with him, and what would get you on his bad side.

No one I know rooted for Viserys lol. My whole family watched this show when it came out and phone calls were ignored for an hr. Then it became a family discussion and plenty of text messages and even at work you had to discuss each episode. So glad you don't have to wait all the months for each season - that was torture.

If you watch closely, Drogo silently asks for her permission when he goes to her and touches her belly while looking intently at her. She grants it by nodding.

Hard to control your emotions when you're a mother, and you believe the person who tried to kill one of your children - twice!! - is standing in front of you. Yes, it was a bad move, and led to all the horrors that I know you've already seen in later episodes/seasons, but being a mother and grandmother myself I totally get why Catlin did what she did 😕

A lot of GRRM's world building is inspired by actual personalities and events from medieval history, and the sad fact of the matter is many noble rulers from that period were cruel, ruthless, and power hungry. That's not a bug, it's a feature.

Blonde hair is recessive. Black/brown hair is dominant. To get blonde hair, you have to inherit the trait from BOTH parents. The only way a child of Robert could have blonde hair is if one of Roberts parents had blonde hair so he would carry the trait.

Interesting fact about the final scene (and your discussion about it). In the first book until this scene her internal monologue always referred to Visarys as her brother, but in this scene while he is being held down and killed her internal monologue keeps referring to him as "the man who used to be my brother". So she very much changes her perspective about him in this moment.

Viserys was more than mean. He always treated his sister like an object that he will trade for an army. His comments and the way he acted was absolutely gross at times and he really had it coming. Daenerys realized that he will never going to change and to be honest as long as he is alive he is a threat to her ( better claim ) but I don't think she was thinking about that yet. Robert can be really crude at times but he really loves Ned like a brother. At this point he is likely the most important person in his life. The doggo killed me, just chilling there tucked in haha :D

Remember when Ned visited one of Robert's bastards. He said his mother had yellow hair. But he still had black hair. The seed is strong. To be fair to Catelyn, her first instinct was to hide from Tyrion. She only arrested him after he spotted her there. In the book it is clarified that she feared he would make trouble for her on the kingsroad if she didn't. She only had one man for protection, after all.
