The original prayer to the Guardian Angel: Angel of God, my guardian dear, To whom His love commits me here, Ever this day/night be at my side, To light and guard, to rule and guide. From stain of sin oh keep me free, And at my death my helper be. Amen. Most prayer books only have the first 4 lines, omitting the last two lines. Encourage your kids and grandchild to pray the original Guardian Angel prayer !

thank you for this and I want to touch on the old ways as well . I'm 56 and feeling my age catching up with me. I find 2 things worrisome , 1 how much the catholic church has changed, and 2 how much the bible has changed. Whhy these concern me . Because yyou don't alterr the bible and yet , over the decades we see itbeing altered , from what is canon and isn't. If it's the word of GOD let us have access to it , donn't lock it away from us . As for the church , again way to many changes . Why no talk about hell and purgatory ? Just upbeat stuff . We NEED to hhear the bad as well as not everyone goes to heaven . I watch church and it's all mega churches now with normal 9 to 5 hours . Why when the devil is 24/7 ? Ii try to get help for spiritual guidance and it's not there anymore. I remember the 70s and how awesome church was , and now not so much. Women shouldn't speack in church and yet thet read scripture from the pulpit. Church isn't church anymore and what's being taught cooncerrns me . Ignoring the old ways and replacing it with a new way , just doesn't feel right. Like this prayer , and many others , being altered . I much prefer the old ways. Feels as though the church has llost it's way and bible too .

I got the sacrament of the sick before a very important operation I asked it -in case I would not be awake afterwards . Then I had a hard time getting it for my mom -because my dad thought I wanted her dead -but I had to tell the priest to do it anyway . Amen 🙏
