Love the old iron, the 66 showed up the 2 Deere's. Nice old sear tractor ive got the same one (1972 12hp) with the 3pt hitch,plow and 56 inch mower deck. Those are built tough and will work circles around anything made today

That was great to see. I have a John deere 1010 but it's the row crop utility. It was awesome to see those classics running. I have a 2 bottom plow that has been sitting awhile same with the sickle mower and disc. Hopefully can shine up good.

Lets see now, the old antique pull type vs 3pt mounted... pull type easier to adjust and lets face it, a bit better in the long run over the mounted. Our mounted plows, we used go down to where the bottom of the spindle was just rubbing the top side of the furrow. We plowed deep for a reason. Miss plowing to be hones, miss farming, health issues. Thank you for sharing, love watching the old equipment work a field, even the Johnny popper believe it or not, were also real work horses. Great to see all of this action. Great video, cheers :)

Ground is REALLY hard here in northern illinois, no rain for a long time. We have a field we plow as a club for a member, in a typical year it plows hard with our light plows. Seeing your video, gave me pause what that field is going to be like this fall. Another good video!!

I got the old 77 out and gave it a work out today pulling a 14’ harrow gator and 14’ cultipacker. She did a good job but I did notice that the float is sticking in the carb

Up here in central Alberta with all the gas and oil a plow sitting outside without being greased or painted you’d never get it to scour. Too much H2S in the oil and they burn that off and it comes down as H2S04, rusts up everything.

Here about 10 minutes north of the Indiana border we rent our ground out well they were plowing it. 12 bottom spring reset you could hear the bottoms resetting and I had my cat which should pull a 5 bottom I was struggling like no other to pull a 3 bottom in 1st gear. This was our some of our prairie ground that was soybean stubble

Running a disk over that plowed ground, will shake you up a bit. My dad did the plowing, and I did the disking. Lots of clay in our soil.

Well your plough has got a good shine on the mouldboards anyway and the tractor got to some work which I'm sure has done it some good clearing out the cobwebs! I enjoyed you guys having a good time but I guess not half as good as yourself getting the chance to do the ploughing. All the Autumn ploughing matches, working days and demonstrations have all been cancelled here as well. Also I'm jealous as I have not had the chance to plough turf in a long while - years!!

Most plow days are held in the Summer and there’s not a lot of land available to hold one. All the damn plow days I ever went to everyone had to deadhead in order for everyone to have some ground left to plow! Anyhow, you at least get to see if everyone attending knows how to set a plow. More plows were worn out that were never set right than were!

Looks decent there! It's been absolutely dry here for the last 3 weeks. Hard enough to get fence posts in, forget about a plow. Pretty sure my plow would just drag on top of the dirt instead of digging in.

If anybody down South has a plow chances are there is a good size Sweet Gum tree growing up thru it.......We had two sets (4-16 AND A 5-16) sold both when we went to strip-till planter combo.... But it to is gone.... Once the grass is sprigged... you only punch holes every spring

I'm probably one of the more cautious ones on here about covid, but having a little fun outside with a small group of people you know well, really dont pose much risk. To me you do things, just be smart. I haven't plowed in 15 to 20 years and I have never used a pull type plow. Saw the story about the bad storms south of Chicago and I think your not that far from it. But did you guys get effected in a significant way from that? 100 mile winds, sheesh that's something. As our equipment got bigger, we added additional floor joists, and doubled up the floor boards. The tractors no longer broke thru the floor.

I’d be interested in knowing how or what I’d need to adjust to get my plow lift out the ground like that. Mine the rooster comb is weak like when it comes up and don’t wanna jump like it needs to and hangs up and drags the tire coming out the ground when the the rooster comb gets to the end on the pick up of the wheel.

I want to blast it and repaint but I am afraid if I take it apart I might not be able to put it back correctly. Was the color Oliver green? I noticed the rims are red. The early ones were red with green rims then they switched to green with red rims. Technically carriage bolt rim plows like mine should be red frame but we were going to paint it to match the tractor.

Please don't wrap your thumb around the crank when you hand start a tractor. I've seen a guy get his thumb ripped off doing that. It's one of those things you can get away with a million times but all it takes is one good backfire and you will only be able to count to 9! Sorry to be the safety Nazi! Enjoyed the video!
