I was very disappointed, they took away from the nuance of Vereena’s character, as well as making Nivellen more dishonest and painting him in an even worse light while painting Vereena in a better one. The scene at the beginning is also at odds with Vereena’s character.

@@qzoid3060I DISAGREE. If u look closer at the episode's theme, neither Nivellan nor Veerina is good or bad. They tried to play at who is the beauty and who is the beast. We could sympathize with Nivellan at first and he seems very caring and accepts his fate. But what he did in his past was an act which was MONSTEROUS in nature. Veerena on the other hand was understanding of Nivellan's sorrow and forgives him. However, she takes advantage of his love and kills all the villagers for her feedings, which is also MONSTEROUS in nature, and for that she is considered as a threat by Geralt. So in the end, you really can't say which one is a BEAUTY or BEAST which is what Witcher stories are all about.
