i think that's because of the mic placement. I've listened to a few of public talks and imo crowd here was even more enthusiastic than ususal. deservedly ofc

Don’t let the recording fool you! I got to see this live and the crowd really LOVED Elliot! Everyone was laughing and engaged during his talk. I remember people swarming him during a brief break asking for pictures and stuff. It was clear the majority of people attending were there to see him (as was I) :]

Elliot says he doesn't care about graphic design and that got me thinking if I actually care about it or not. Should I have a caring attitude in this line of work? What is it even like to care about graphic design? Is there a preferred gatekeeping way of caring about it? Do I actually like designing? I think I do. I enjoy both the process and the end result. But what if I'm lying to myself?

How ugly that they generalize the type of person who wants to be a designer, given that there are many possibilities and trends in this discipline, but it is still very annoying when a horde of NPC followers without identity arrive to spam the comments and wont make discussion. Overall i feel that Elliot is good talking to people and leaving his position on design since communication it's key to designers and many young people identify with him, his personality is a gift that he has.
