Yeah it is. It was a beautiful ending that tied together what they all went through and after seeing season 6 again I legit have no idea how people don't get it. The complaint I believe was they dead "the whole time" right but that's not the case at all.

Still being a HUGE fan of "LOST", I spend YEARS of doing research and interviews both during and after the show's original run, on storytelling structure, how different teams of writers came up with every single detail, which references and source materials were used, and how they had to deal with a whole bunch of pushbacks. Both by the network (who at first wanted to strip every bit of paranormal), but also actors who just left the show, who were carefully given large story arcs surround the show's conclusion (like Mr. Eko). The show was the first to really gather an online community, and like so many 'first timers', it became one of those things, like Jar Jar Binks, Britney or "Titanic" which you just had to dislike, because the rest of the world 'did so as well'. Til this day, "LOST" is the number one misunderstood television show in history, even for those who really liked it and think they figured it out. That includes the cast, who never fully knew what the show was about, how the finale was meant to be interpreted and what fate their characters went through near the end. Inspired by concepts, such as "Twin Peaks" and the many stories by Stephen King ("The Stand" in particular), the show runners had a blast in making the show and in particular selling it to the world. Every single interview was meant to be read as some form of "we're finally getting answers", but instead they maintained the mystery box principle: keep asking new questions or just luring you in the wrong direction, always making you wonder, always leaving things open for your own interpretation. I've heard every actor talk about their idea about the show's ending, including Michael's. The show was constructed around certain elements, mechanisms and themes of philosophy and religion. In particular, the whole concept of 'the ending' was born by the end of season two. It wasn't til the third season where they really came up with the show's finale (in the form of 3 final seasons). Main protagonist on "LOST" is Jack. In Tibetan Buddhism, there is this concept known as Bardo. This concept was used by the writers to structure the final three seasons. According to Bardo, Jack cycled trough the stages of life, death and rebirth. After life, his consciousness had to be awoken from this 'in-between' stage to reach 'Nirvana'. Even though we're watching Jack's consciousness; for storytelling purposes (and to divert audiences), all other characters were written into the 'sideways' and given their own 'awakenings' as well. Unlike Jack, Ben's consciousness still had 'unfinished business': to 'cleanse' its negative karma. Eventually, he would've been thrown back in the cycle of rebirth and 'do better' (which was kind of illustrated in the form of helping Hurley on the Island). Fun fact: Initially, Ben was also given an awakening moment in the final episode (being awoken by Alex; his 'mirror redeemer', as Michael says), but the scene got cut to accentuate the difference between all the consciousnesses reaching Nirvana, except for his. I can write and talk for HOURS about how great this show actually is. How well it was thought of, how well it was written and how GREAT some actors were in it (in particular Michael). It's the details that people never see or know about. They usually are divided in two camps: they like the mythology and the mystery (but usually hate the fact that things were never fully explained to them on a piece of paper) or they ride along for the drama element between these characters (which usually ends up in confusion, because why this or why that). All in all, "LOST" will never stop to amaze me. It's a shame people talk so negatively about the show. It's usually the fact that it's not a no-brainer and you actually have to invest, put the pieces together yourself and fill in the blanks. As a result, most heard complaints are "The writers came up with everything along the way and there was no plan", "These characters were all dead from the beginning" and "It was bad, because they didn't answer any of the questions I still had". [/The End] 😉

The ending of lost is deep, and i understand why people might not understand it but when you think about it for a while its so clear. Because afterlife is timeless, no matter when you die everyone arrives there at the same time.

I also enjoyed the end of Lost. It made sense in the journey upon which the writers took us, from the very first scene of the series to the final storyline. I also appreciate the end of Person of Interest, another great series. Hopefully Fallout will be enjoyable.

On the collectors edition dvd set the special "hidden" disc had the end with Ben and Hurley getting Walt and going back to the island to do things Hurleys way. Thats where they need to pick up for a sequel show . . . . . eventually.

@@06rtm Explain what exactly? People crash on an island. They have wacky adventures, play golf, find other people there and all that stuff. In the end they defeat the bad guy and save the island. Some people stay on the island to protect it, others fly home and Jack dies. Then they meet again in an afterlife.

I have been a fan of Emerson since forever. I watched Person of interest because of him, and it was a great show overall. Sugest if you wanna see him as a main character. I still remember Harold's speech about math. His voice is so damn beautiful. And while I disagree on Lost, I love how passionate his is about defending the ending of it. I see his point, and I guess I was kinda done with LOST in general for the last seasons, I felt like they promised a mystery and we ended up with some deep metaphoires more than answers to it.. So maybe that's why I didn't like it. I Don't remember well. I watched the last few seasons solely because of Ben. I screamed when I saw Michael in fallout. Wish he stayed longer. More Michael Emerson in your shows, please, people. You can only benefit! The lost writer can add him in FROM for example. You can only benefit
