Once again, Northern Rail have a special cheap tickets offer so I take advantage for a day out on La'al Ratty. AccuWeather predicts a 0% likelihood of rain for the Esk Valley today so I go lightly dressed and intending to use the drone. I should have known better!

Thoroughly enjoyed the views, and your conversations, on my break. Wouldn't be the first time weather reports were wrong- certainly not the last either!

Lovely video, a shame the weather did not match. The cancelled train on the way back made it a very long day for you as well, still better having a day out and meeting a few people though.

A day on Ratty is always a good day and it could have been a great deal worse. I'm back there again on Saturday - here's hoping!

Great footage from the Ratty and typical Cumbrian weather. I've always used BBC weather for the forecast, it's not perfect but none of them are.👍

Oh - the weather's part of the excitement of a day in the Lake District. Back again on Saturday - must remember to pack my brolly!

Thank you James. The weather is always a hazard when visiting the Lake District - serves me right for believing the weathermen! I'm back there again on Saturday - better luck next time perhaps?

Great to see the Ratty whatever the weather but sad that they still haven't thrown off the terrible screens on the open coaches.....surely they can't still be justified? It's the open ride views of the hills that is reason to visit the line. Still, thanks for the film.

Have to say that I agree with you on the screens. They're still doing coach and seat specific bookings too - no sharing with people outside your own group, which must reduce the numbers carried on each journey. However, these are decisions over which I have no say.
