Hope y'all enjoy this short instructional video. Again, this is by no means exhaustive, but I think it will be a practical introduction to the traditions and the scale and triad positions you need to flatpick in C position.

Dude, the light went on when you explained it from 30,000 feet and then gave examples. It was like "here's the forest, and these are the trees". Cannot wait to get to work...and I've been playing well over 50 years. Thanks very much. Will look forward to Skype lessons.

I’m starting out with guitar, I am very interested with Merle Haggard and his Jimmie Rodgers material, hopefully I can get the hang of guitar picking. I already know how to play rhythm pretty well.

I've noticed JP cormier do that half trill thing too. Whenever there would be a triplet in the traditional recording, he does kind of a stutter where he picks two notes and does a pulloff. He's usually playing too fast to play the full triplet so it gets the point across in a time efficient manner
