This is hilarious. I was part of a large friend group back in my uni days and there were three of us within it that were really close and we had so many of these sorts of references. And one of the women in the larger group started getting so annoyed every time we used one and would start yelling 'No References! No References!' because she absolutely hated that she didn't know what they meant.
