Recently read "The Carrow Haunt", my first novel of hers, and I agree it was hard to put down. Her writing style was a breath of fresh air at the time. Excited to try some of your recommendations!

Love her! Read Haunting of Ashburn house first a few years ago and I was hooked. My second favorite author, only behind Stephen King. Looking forward to seeing her on her tour in the U S.

Great video! I hope to read her books soon. Also, you know 'Voices in the Snow' is the first book in a series right? Mers from 'Harpies in the Trees' has made some great Darcy Coates videos too. 🙂

I have read Ashburne house, Blackwood house, Gallows Hill, and From Below so far. From Below was definitely my favorite. One of my favorite thing is how descriptively she portrays the corpses in From Below. Next I'll be reading Hunted!

Aren't her books addicting!? I cannot stop buying them. The description of what happened on the ship before it sunk gave me so many nightmares haha. I really enjoyed Hunted, as well, but it may have recently been knocked out of my top 3. I want to read and rank them all but she releases too many! (although I'm obviously not complaining)

I just finished her book "Where He Can't Find You" yesterday and I am such in love with that book. Was looking at her other books and recognized a few of them as ones you had talked about so I found this video of yours to check out possible recommendations. I can't wait to read more of her stuff. Where He Can't Find You was so gorgeously written, creepy as fuck, had such realistic characters, and was so creative and fresh. Felt like if Stephen King wrote Stranger Things but wanted the villain to be inspired by Ed Gein.

I have published a couple of books. I say that so you know that I understand the industry. The first copyright date in Craven Manor means that it was first printed in 2017. It does not refer to its first digital publication date. According to the copyright page, it was first self published by Black Owl Books. Then, in 2020, it was picked up by a small publishing house called Poisoned Pen Press. If you see a single date on the copyright page of a book, it means it is a first edition. Two, means second edition, etc. Anyone with a first edition Craven Manor (that is a book with just a copyright date of 2017) should keep it in good condition, because chances are it will get them a pretty penny if she ever has one of her books made into a movie that gets popular. Since it was self published, I'd wage to bet first edition Craven Manor books are extremely rare. Just for future reference.

@@AndaKent Yeah, if you get a chance to see him I bet you’d love it. I’m sure your aware his whole show is horror themed (cause horror is your thing) but he really goes all out.I’m not really a Manson fan at all but I’ve seen him in concert as well as Rob Zombie and as far as theatrics they were disappointing compared to Cooper. If you can’t see him maybe check out prime cuts it’s a documentary with many live performances in it as well.

Yo, I have the same Alice Cooper shirt! But yeah, I enjoy Darcy Coates from time to time. She’s one of those authors that I can read and enjoy, but not like back to back books from her. Generally her books are nice to read and serve as a good palette cleanser for me, but then afterwards I’ll need something with a bit more meat to it. Unfortunately the last book I read by her was actually a DNF, and that was Haunting of Ashburn house. I thought the main character was quite dull and one-dimensional, and the writing in that book for me was just too repetitive and tedious. My favorite from Coates would probably actually be Dead Lake, the novella in that one is absolutely awesome and creepy as h3ll, and the following 3 short stories in it are also fantastic as well. I intend to read the Haunting of Leigh Harker next, and I also would like to get the Gallows Hill and From Down Under. There’s also a short story collection she released recently that looks interesting as well.
