Regarding members leaving SM, but NOT leaving SNSD: From the very start, SNSD gained fans not just from the typical 10--20 and 20-30 year K-pop demographics, but from ALL age groups ( notably "samchons", 40-50-60 year-olds. In 2009, "Gee' made them the the 'biggeest' group ( not just 'girl-group') in K-Pop, not only in Korea but internationally. SNSD literall helped 'save the nation', as from their record sales and product commercials/endorsements the Korean financial press calculated that SNSD contributed 6% to Korea's national economic recovery from the 2008/2009 recession. They were made cultural ambassadors by the Koren government, and had an exclusive meeting with Korea's First Lady at 'The Blue House' ( Korea's 'White House') . They were the first entertainers to have a set of postage stamps issued with their images on them. In the TV series 'Four Gentleman', Sooyoung makes a cameo as herself during a discussion among the main characters, one of who proclaims "loving SNSD IS loving Korea!". In a hit movie ( I forget the title) , the lead actor improvises a line (mockingly) ; "Who are waiting for? SNSD? " and later in a car turns on the radio to listen to SNSD to 'regain his energy'" Having an international hoit with "The Boys, Winning the KZfaq Music Video of the Year with I Got A Boy, and a host of other milestones, made SNSD "The Queens of K-Pop" and "The Nation's Girl Group". Basically SNSD went from being an 'SM group' to being just SNSD. When Sooyoung, Seohyun and Tiffany did not renew their SM contracts, SM would have been crazy to 'disband' them, as would happen with other groups...and such is the bond the members have, and their importance to SM, SNSD continued, in spirit and in reality as the members all showed up to support each others solo work and always insisted they'd be true to their motto "Girls Generation forever1"). This is part of why, since about 2015 they are rightfully called "The Legendary SNSD" .

Snsd guides don't really showcase Sunny's personality like the others. It mostly touch on her aegyo which is just aprt of who she is. She's the variety queen yet they rarely shown her in that setting which is where her personality shine the most. Glad that they're showcasing her vocals more but we need more of who she really is.

Tiffany (doing solo outside of Kpop), Sooyoung and Seohyun (pursuing their career as actress). They are still part of the group despite not being signed with SM. They couldn't do much of group activities being the recent comeback an exception cause it's their 15th year anniversary. It's like with Jessica's situation for 1 year but in reverse. She's still signed with SM for 1 year but dismissed from the group.

4:00 SNSD/Girls' Generation initially debuted with 9 members in 2007. In 2017 Tiffany, Sooyoung and Seohyun left the company SM by not renewing their contracts. However, they left in good terms so they are still considered as part of SNSD meaning even if those 3 members are no longer part of SM Entertainment, they can still legally say that they are SNSD. To make the Forever1 album, SM had to coordinate with the 3 other companies making this an 8 member comeback. 😅 Jessica on the other hand had left or was kicked out in bad terms with the SM company, so she has been banned from using the group name SNSD. Her removal was one of the saddest and biggest mystery in SNSD's career. No one knows the truth besides the members and SM. The members are also not allowed to discuss anything about it and I think they had a NDA contact. 🥲 _____ SNSD have talents (vocals and dance choreo), visuals, and they are naturally dorky COMEDIAN. Her post burned their bridges when she said the other 8 had a hand in kicking her out of the group. All the "talking behind the scene" is just fan speculation. Taeyeon was blamed a lot. The group always maintain with "they stood with w/e decision was made to protect the group" line. Her books do not paint her former members in a good light as well.
