I wanna get into doing Photography for a living so bad but have no clue where to even start, travelling is such a dream and capturing those memories to share is lovely.

Hi Chris! As a portuguese living in Lisbon I´m very glad to see that you love this country, it´s landscapes and people so much (let´s not talk about the fantastic food for now :) ). It´s really a great place to live and grab some time&space moments on photo. Oh, and BTW, your work is really amazing and your sugestions and tips are top notch! You´re always welcome here. Pro tip: Lisbon is probably one of the most amazing cities in the world to photograph.

I love this video!!!! I'm going to be a teacher abroad soon in China & I'm going to create so much photography content & video content. I usually bring a 30mm-110mm or 10mm-30mm for lighter mode along with using my phone for traveling. This is a good tip and your input! I can't wait to go to a new country exploring new locations!

I am a homeschooling mom. I decided to add traveling to my sons learning. I printed a map of the state we live in and started out in our own area then travel from area yo area or in the USA we call them counties. I want to start traveling from state to state,we are also doing KZfaq videos on our travels.

I love getting lost! My mom is my photography body, we'll go somewhere with some plan but then say: "what's over there?" and we'll check it out. We've found so many amazing spots this way. Not every time will we strike gold, but it's worth the risk. :D

Hi Chris, I follow your work and Lizzie's here on KZfaq for a while now, and I just came across this video, you came to Azores and Madeira, the islands of Portugal. And yes, I'm portuguese... Sorry about my english... So, when are you thinking coming to Portugal again? In the continent we have places like Gerês, Nazaré, Algarve, Serra da Estrela, and some hidden places that I think you both would enjoy a lot. Yes, the main cities like Lisboa and Porto are beautiful as well. But, well, I think that if you see the other places that people don't go to often, your photos could be much more amazing and interesting. And, yes, I almost forgot. Congratulations on your wedding! You two are amazing together.

Hey Chris, great video and great tips! Just one tip that I don't really agree with is the last about giving money to locals to shoot. Obviously it varies from subject to subject, but if many others starts doing so, it may lead to a small business of locals doing stuff for money. I remember at a photography workshop a Nat Geo photographer being pissed about photographers that gave money to take pictures of indigenous people in Tanzania or Papua New Guinea, telling that now some locals will set everything up to give photographers what they want. So it would be best to "lose" some time more, interact with locals and then ask them for pictures (free), so they wouldn't get used to receive money for that.

Solid advise

How do you take photos and videos at the same time while travelling? I find it quite hard sometimes when you have everything setup with a Gimbal, microphone and so on and then you just want to take some photos in between and all the stuff around is just bothering you. I’m just wondering if you have any tips on how to manage both

It depends on where you’re traveling to, but I believe you should ideally have 35-200mm covered in your kit.
