I discovered him on your POD 2 weeks ago and I got reacquainted with myself for the first time in my 47 years here on Earth. I spent the entire day, prob 12 hours and at least a few hours a day since just listening and being guided by this amazing soul named Mooji! :). My person-hood and ego are not in control ever anymore and that is the biggest gift ever, I only Live in gratitude, peace and love now and these words actually seem silly, they can never do this discovery justice. :). I Love you Russel for bringing him on, that conscious gesture, changed at least one life here! I'm still kind of on cloud 9 but with feet so firmly planted now! :). Much Love, Peace, Tranquility and continued self discovery for all of Human Kind.

I've transcribed the main part of this exercise to use with students I work with. Feel free to also use it (I've cleaned up areas that were a bit too conversational): This is a very gentle exercise. Just suppose that nothing exists but you. I know that sounds crazy but let’s try it. Suppose there was no world and no memory of a world, and so on. There was only yourself. So, the attention did not have anything to go out towards and to talk about this and to talk about something from yesterday or some future. There’s only your being. You’re only here. So, your attention has nothing to keep referring to apart from being aware of just being. Just here. Anything about “how I was yesterday” or “how I want to be tomorrow or next week” is simply some kind of myth. All that really exists is right here, right now. Let’s suppose that you could leave aside for a moment every idea that you have about who you are. Just for a short time. Just leave every description about yourself, your self-image and so on, just leave it aside for a moment. We’re not going to ask you to destroy that, just leave it aside, and when the exercise has finished we can reclaim whatever it is that you’re leaving aside for a moment. But really be earnest about it and say “whatever it is about myself, such as what I’ve done in my life” - let’s just not include that in this present moment. And “whatever I may want from something called the future - how I would like to see the world” let’s not engage with any thoughts about that. Any desire, even for enlightenment, let’s just leave that aside for the moment. So, the past, your lineage, your background, the person you consider yourself to be, your relationships, your desires or aspirations for the world. All these things you’re going to leave, just be empty of them. And genuinely participate in this exercise. Empty beyond even the idea or concept of emptiness, meaning not holding on to anything at all. Let’s imagine if everything you’ve learned or believe or think could somehow be taken out. Everything is taken out. There will remain here, whatever it is that this is, something that cannot be taken away. It’s just here. It’s not an object, it cannot be removed. Take everything that you have learned, everything that you’ve experienced, everything that you could desire, just take it out. So you are totally empty of any content, memory, past, future, desire, even for enlightenment. And you are simply here. You are aware that what I am calling you now, even your personality, the sense of personhood, your rights, whatever self-descriptions, everything you will suspend for a while. And I’m asking you to do this so that I can ask you just a few questions which are yes or no answers. Very very simply. If you have come so far to leave these things aside. 1. That which is “here” now, which remains, which cannot be taken away, whatever it is, is it an object of any form at all? 2. If everything could be left aside, this which cannot be taken out, does it have any shape or form or design at all? 3. What about, could you say that there could be a boundary beyond which this does not exist? 4. Can this, whatever it is, become depressed or addicted to anything or become sick? 5. Can it be for or against anyone? Can it take sides with anyone at all? 6. Are you creating this? Or are you imagining this at all? 7. Can this, whatever it is, fade? 8. Was it created or born? 9. Can it perish, die or end? 10. It is a philosophy? 11. Can what we call “mind” exist apart from or independent of this? Outside of this? 12. How close are you to it? Is there any distance that separates your natural sense of being from this? 13. So therefore, would it be unreasonable to say that if all your answers are as they have been, could we deduce that all these answers are about you? What you are? Uncreated, not merely an object. Cannot become sick or depressed or become addicted to anything at all. It cannot fade. There are no natural boundaries beyond which it ceases to exist. It is not merely a philosophy or a belief system. That it was not born, you did not imagine it and that it cannot die. 14. Could you say that it’s just a feeling that you’re having? 15. If all these things are so, then what you are confirming is your own true self. 16. If this conversation should continue in whatever form, will it make a difference to this which is? 17. Is this in waiting for something to happen? So that is it. You can have this direct recognition and that is here irrespective of what is playing within the field that we call the mind.

I feel like I have such a long way to go in my spiritual journey, so many of these questions I didn't know what my answer was, and that last question made me cry, because I felt like the resounding answer for myself, was "so, so far away.. I don't feel close to this, whatever is left, at all. In fact, I didn't feel like I could say that what was left after leaving everything outside of myself, was remotely close at all... And that was such a sad, lonely and hollow feeling. But it also was an eye opener for me, because it really drove home the fact that I need to get clean from drugs, and do a lot of healing and get the heck out of myself and my comfort zone and get to a place where most of my life isn't dictated by drugs...

Russell, this guided meditation, which at the time i found exhilarating, bowled me over. I was happy to have found a spiritual teacher and the timing was right for me. Nearly two months down the line listening to Mooji on you tube and my son comes to me saying, "mum, he's a cult leader" i kinda poo pooed the idea until he started reading stories to me from people's experiences at Mooji's satsang. Have spent the entire day researching the accusations and they seem to be true. There's quite a bit online, facebook groups dedicated to mooji, speaking their truth of what they saw and experienced staying with him, it's pretty damaging stuff. Am gutted, there's no denying that this meditation is helpful and it certainly helped me but from the testimony s I've read he isn't the man he appears to be. Truly gutted.

That's because when you put your faith in any human, you will be disappointed. Humans are all created by God and are created in a state of weakness and forgetfulness, and as such prone to err. That is why God sent down prophets and messengers as examples and teachers of His word and the straight path. When you try to create 'a way' or a 'practice' taking God out of the equation, you can never attain true peace. God knows what we need better than we do and what will bring us true rest. We are not simply beings of light floating in the ether without purpose. We are here for a finite period of time with a purpose. That purpose is to know and worship our Maker, the Creator of the heavens and earth and all that is. To be the best version of ourselves and exemplary humanitarians serving His creation. Enjoining good and challenging wrongdoing. Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and all the prophets from Adam, Noah, Abraham, Jesus (peace be upon them all), was the seal of the prophets. Following the example of the prophets will never lead you astray and will lead to siratul mustaqeem 'the upright/straight path. We have been created by God, we have purpose, we were designed to worship which is why there is such an intense desire in humans to be 'followers' but when we idolise anything created being (entertainers, celebrities, spiritual gurus, sports stars etc ) we put our faith in a human that was never designed to be worshipped and is in themselves in need. True rest will only ever be attained in the refuge and safety of our Source, with the most sublime communion with God and when we surrender to Him. Everything else will leave us with a sense of incompleteness. This is beautifully articulated in the talk by Linda Salima, True Rest

My points still stands. Mental health issues are rampant because no amount of meditating can bring true peace when it is done in isolation of the bigger picture. We were not created without purpose. The human soul will be in a state of flux because it is longing to return to its Source. The separation from our Creator when we are in this physical existence creates the longing for reunion. When you have a jigsaw puzzle with even one missing piece, it will be incomplete, and regardless of how beautiful the picture is, without that missing piece, there will be a sense of loss. Anyway, wishing you peace and blessings in your walking on the spiritual path. You know pain and hardship cannot be avoided in this journey. In the final Quranic revelations, God emphasises 'You will certainly, most definitely (basically a double emphasis) be tested by any of the following: death, fear, loss, hunger, fruits of your labour (things not turning out how you want after you've put in all the effort) but those who hold tight to God with patient perseverance (spiritual fortitude/trust in God's grace and prayers, will attain success. We can't avoid trials/tribulations, as much as we want to create heaven on earth. Toil and anguish will only cease once we return Home in the Light and presence of our Lord and Creator. Whatever we accept, deny or choose to live by in this transitory journey, we are already all on the way towards physical death as soon as we are born. Death can occur at any time and time is measured in the breath. Death does not discriminate and comes at any age, cannot be controlled. So it's a case of being prepared and understanding our purpose will help us in our journey. God promises to respond to all who call on Him so if you seek truth, pray and ask for guidance on His Truth. Truth is universal. Spiritual truths are universal. Rick Warren's ted talk on finding purpose was profound and worth a listen. Ok wishing everyone peace.

I literally got teary eyed, out of every meditation I’ve done the way he described removing everything else and establishing that true self, worked so amazingly, I’ve never experienced that with that kind of depth. Wow.

Beautiful! Thank you💚 Know and have FAITH in your deepest heart that we are exactly where we are supposed to be and that we are headed exactly where we need to be. Open your sacred heart chakra and practice unconditional love, that is what we are at THE CORE. And operating from that core space will NEVER FAIL YOU. May love, peace, happiness, health, and abundance be upon us all💚💚💚

This perennial wisdom has been the way of the world’s religions since before religions. There are as many ways to practice this contemplative silence as there are people. I have done this WORK ( it is work!) for 20 years using the method advocated byJohn Main from within the Christian tradition of 2000 years. It uses a mantra - a word of choice to achieve exactly the state of Being practised here with Russell. For which thanks. Zap intrusive ads with mindful alacrity.

Feel this shows something bout Russell's progress. I valued the shade of my closed eyes which held some intonations of form while noting I was construing awareness methodically, mentally

I felt the same way. I'm just beginning my journey of enlightenment, and my conscious mind wouldn't allow me to let go. I felt relaxed, but couldn't let go of seeing my body, being on a tropical beach, and my awareness was battling to reframe ("Oh, right, let go. No clothes because that's holding on to identity. Oh that island in the distance of my mind shouldn't be there because that's not letting go so remove that. Oh, no, now I'm editorializing. Need to stop doing that." My conscious mind was trying to drive the car towards enlightenment through analysis. That's how I live my life, what I'm trying to let go of, and an important realization in itself.
