The a-ha channel is the official KZfaq home of the Norwegian Pop trio a-ha, who achieved global stardom in 1985 when their debut single, “Take On Me” from the album ‘Hunting High And Low’ topped the charts in 36 different countries on its way to becoming one of the best-selling singles of all time, and the 5th most streamed song of the 20th century. a-ha struck chart gold again with “The Sun Always Shines On T.V.” and “Cry Wolf,” and recorded the theme to the 1987 James Bond film “The Living Daylights”. The a-ha KZfaq channel is proud to host the music videos from these hits alongside live performance videos, lyric videos, and the solo work of band members Morten Harket (lead vocals), Paul Waaktaar-Savoy (Guitar), and Magne Furuholmen (Keyboards).

Let Paul and Magne are not be offended, they are great guys! But Morten Harket is the handsomest, beautiful man on the Earth of all time and ever lived, who extracts from himself the most beautiful sounds of his voice. And it's not the compliment but pure truth! And I want to look at him, listen to his voice and admire such a unique person, created probably not by his parents but the God, in every video of A-HA! I was born in a distant 1977 and went to school when did popularity of A-HA start, but in Russia people of all ages know, remember and love you- Paul, Magne and Morten!

Yep, you can blame that on music videos like above. They made Morten into a sex object. Most videos give Morten like 95% of the camera time and leave Pål and Magne with the other 5% to share. Most photos have Morten center stage. He’s shirtless with a vest, shirt completely open, tight clothes, flipping his long hair when he has it long, or looking like a perfect GQ model. The record companies did this on purpose cause sex sells. And look, it worked. The media and brainwashed fans sucked it up. Look at all these brainwashed people “Morten Morten Morten!” Truthfully yes, all three of them are handsome. They could have made any of them into the sex object, really. More importantly, all three of them are so talented it’s insane! Talent takes a back step when you’re shown like a poppy boy band as well as one of the members is made to be a sex object. It seems they might have tried to pull back on Scoundrel Days and East of the Sun. Must have been really pressured to go back for the videos I have seen for Memorial Beach, like above? Damn!! Serious Playgirl material. 😮All this is in a-ha the movie. I highly recommend it. If you want to see all three get equal camera time and nobody looks like a pin up, I recommend looking up “a-ha Live at NRK 1991”. All that shines through is their phenomenal talents, beautiful, like it should be. That doesn’t make the money though. 😞

It’s a tough one for me because I am so in Love with this one, East of the Sun, and Minor Earth. To me, it feels like with all three, they really experimented and tried different stuff. Memorial Beach is definitely extra special in the fact that I don’t think anything else they did sounds similar to it. Also, one of the few albums with so many songs using Morten’s deep gravelly/scratchy voice. THE WHOLE SONG TOO! not going along with high notes at all, just the deep stuff. It’s so so rare. (My sweet spot and the hottest thing about him, to me). I feel with all three albums, I really get to hear Magne and Pål’s heart and souls with how much they get into the instruments. Man Pål and some of those guitar solos are so hauntingly beautiful and amazing. Magne on the piano/keyboard/organ is also so beautiful and amazing. I feel like I get to hear all of their talents with writing songs. With all three albums, I can just get totally lost in a whole different world. I completely fell head over heels in Love with all three of their minds and hearts. That is where the magic comes from and the hottest things about each of them to me.❤

I just can't understand how Memorial Beach was a commercial let down and was not welcomed by press and critiques. Such a potential, they were exploring and developing, this was the music and the sound that THEY wanted to play (at least at that times). Clearly they were exhausted of kinda synth-pop and overuse of Morten's falsetto. And damn he is a real rock star here, the way he sings, the way he looks. Honestly I think he even looks a little TOO much here, borderline objectification. Plus they sound so cool and funky in this, how can this be missed?

Maybe the reason was the bad aesthetics? I mean they wanted to do some grunge at that time. At least it seems so. And what's a-ha got to do with grunge? Basically nothing at all. They don't have the looks to be a grunge band, Harket doesn't have suitable vocals for grunge. I guess Paul wanted the band to take this path as he had a thing for America. But it was a failure from the start. Sadly for Waaktaar, he has more ambitions than talent.

@@shelld1261 Well, a lot of pop and rock stars used their looks as a part of a show/way of promotion. For me, honestly, the MAIN problem with Morten and this style or his style through the years, is the fact that he can't be fully honest about it. That he has that "fancy poser" part in himself. I think even with himself. It's all like "I'm tired of this sort of attention, but still will play this card and moan about how I'm tired again". Like, man, chill out, you can be sensual, handsome and deep person at the same time. You tried to express yourself that way for a few years, didn't work out for you well enough, so let it go)

I guess you lost the point with the other people in the video. This man, who obviously tries to escape his own body. To me, it is quite clear that A-ha with this video are settling with the idolization of Morten's appearance. All this cultivation of the product Morten who ignores that it is a human we are talking about, a man with a life, a family and emotions as a private human being. It can’t be easy to be the woman in Morten's life and deal with this cultivation of the "object", the external image of Morten. The sexualization of a man with good looks who really just wants to create good music and share it with the world.

Can you name any like this in the past few years? From anywhere in the world? I cannot.i wish Aha was still around.

I listened to this song a couple days ago. Finally watched official video today & I agree, the models were a waste, I understand Michelle’s comment about breaking away from your shell but I think something else was needed here. Actually would loved to seen more of Morten, Mags and Paul. Just watching Mags on Keyboard and Paul on Guitar just sends chills. They make it look so effortless, especially since I don't have a clue how to play.

I recommend checking out videos from “Live at NRK 1991”. Just type that in search above and they will pop up. Pål, Magne, and Morten each get equal attention. You actually get to watch Magne and Pål play and really get into their craft. Nobody is highlighted more over the other one. Nobody is dressed sexy or like a perfect GQ model. They just look like they’re being themselves to me and their talents truly shine through. A very rare find, I believe.

@@ahkkariq7406 Oh, that makes sense, yes. Except there are two men. It does look like one of them is a female impersonator who takes off the costume. One is bound in different ways. They also did a lot of binding kind of stuff in Dark is the Night. The original made sense for I believe it was showing how they wanted to break free from the images/binds forced upon them and be their real selves. Maybe it’s some of that here too? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Just actually watched the whole thing now. I guess they aren’t showing Morten a crazy amount here. Good amount of Magne, but not much Pål, if any. Still mostly comments about Morten though. Lol…what else is new? A lot about the actress too. She must have been popular in different parts of the world? 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don’t know, think I need to stop spending my time on this video though. Just listen to the song and put different images in my head 😉I just saw you wrote this comment. Sorry it took me this long to see it. I don’t get notifications on comments for some reason and I have no clue how to fix that. I do get comments on likes though, sometimes.

I totally love this song and all of the songs on this album! Wow, Magne and Pål so get into it with their instruments, the music just gets into my whole body and soul, and Morten's deep and sometimes gravelly/scratchy voice. Hit's all my sweet spots. 💞 I do wish more people would leave comments similar to what I wrote above. You know, pay attention to their actual talent and remember that there are THREE of them. Magne, Pål, and yes, of course, Morten. Morten isn't a-ha, he is part of a-ha. Takes all three of them to make this phenomenal music! It is hard to think with your brain and not your hormones when the music industry did such a fantastic job of making Morten into a sex object instead of showing him as a human being and just showing off his talent. Easy to forget that Magne and Pål are also key figures when they are lucky to split maybe 5% of the camera time as Morten gets 95%. For those of you who haven't seen it, PLEASE do watch a-ha the movie. Do so with an open mind and REALLY listen to what they all say. I believe this can open the minds of many fans and help them to respect all three of them more. Do remember that this is Morten almost 30 years ago. He is now a 63 year old man. He is a father of 5, two of those are teenage girls. He has been in a relationship with his girlfriend and mother to one of those girls for almost 18 years now, apparently, it is pretty serious and seems it could be permanent. 😉Before you leave a comment, maybe think "Would I be able to say this to his two teenage girls or Inez?" 🤔Also maybe, close your eyes and ACTUALLY listen to the music! Try it! You will be amazed at how it affects your other senses (not your hormones) and how amazing this stuff really is! Yes, it's not really meant to be about Morten being "Hot, beautiful, sexy", whatever. Honestly, the truth is this is not what the three of them wanted. They want and dream to be recognized as real musicians with real talent. Not a poppy boy band or as hot eye candy and oh, those two other guys in the background. They have given us sooooo much! We should be amazing fans and give nothing but respect back. Just a thought. My opinion. ✌❤😊 ✨I just discovered this reaction channel. He listened to all of A-ha’s stuff and goes deep and kinda philosophical on the songs. He doesn’t show the videos, just shows him listening to their actual music. It is so amazing and rare for me to see this! I am very excited and wanted to share with anyone interested. So many comments as well are the same respectful and serious stuff. It’s not about “how hot Morten is” or just about Take on me. So refreshing that it made me cry. My head exploded cause I could believe a channel like that could exist or realize how many REAL fans there are. Just in case anyone is interested, here is one example kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gt2KjLFoqN60foU.html

Agree 100%...been a fan since 1985 & just as hardcore now as I was then...Move To Memphis might be my fave a-ha song ever, out of many & really tough to choose...might be my all-time fave band, why?? Their songwriting, musicianship, originality, Morten's singing, production, the videos are great, each of their now-11 studio albums are different from each other, great live band...I actually got to know Pal & Lauren, as they live in Brooklyn, NY as well as Oslo...I can go on & on...btw, Memorial Beach, their 1993 album this song is on & produced by Prince cohort at Paisley Park is one of my faves, they successfully came up with their own kind of soul/grunge/dark spooky Lanois-esque sound that is really cool & Morten uses his low end more, a bit scratchy/raspy & is amazing...

Maybe that is why this is one of my favorite albums. I am so in love with the style they do on it. I can’t get enough of it. I tell you, if by some miracle I ever ran into the the three of them, I could probably play it cool. However, if they broke out into a song similar to the ones from Memorial Beach, any song with Morten’s deep raspy voice, when he does those extra sounds when he’s really into it? Pål and Magne seriously getting into the guitar and keyboard/piano/Organ? Well, I would be completely flustered and melting onto the floor. Morten Harket Facts: MHF #1: Rain exists to water Morten Harket’s orchids. All that other plant stuff is just an accident. MHF #2: Morten Harket can sing in Norwegian and English. At the same time. AND YOU WILL LOVE IT. MHF #3: When the temperature goes up, it’s not because of global weather patterns. Morten Harket just happened to smile. MHF #6: When you suddenly get shivers in the middle of a hot day, it’s because Morten Harket breathed in your direction. MHF #7: Morten Harket gave People Magazine permission to use his middle name on a yearly basis-which why they have a “Sexiest Man Alive” issue every year. You know why. MHF #10: The sun doesn’t always shine on TV. But it does always shine where Morten Harket is. MHF #11: Morten Harket could close the case on Silver Shore. If he wanted to. MHF #12: Morten Harket can play a mean guitar solo …. on a tambourine. MHF #14: Morten Harket can do things with his voice that most men can’t do with their hands. (Kristina Poskaite) MHF #30: The happiest place on Earth? Morten Harket’s bedroom, of course! (And you thought it was Disneyworld). MHF #31: Morten Harket’s first words were “thank you all so much”. He didn’t say anything else that day. (But we love him even though he doesn’t talk much). MHF #32: The lower registers of Morten Harket’s voice can bring women in the audience to the brink of orgasm. Why only the brink? Because he’s a gentleman. MHF #33: Smiling is the second best thing Morten Harket can do with his lips. MHF #34: When Morten Harket wants to collect butterflies, he doesn’t need a net; he just stares at them with those stunning blue eyes and they fall out of the sky at his feet. But when he wants to give them a sporting chance he uses a net. While blindfolded. MHF #35: Morten Harket doesn’t have to try to stay on these roads. The roads follow him. MHF #36: When Morten Harket walks across a lawn, orchids spring up behind him. MHF #37: Morten Harket knows when you are sleeping, and when you’re awake. He also knows when you’re thinking naughty thoughts about him, but that’s not a superpower-just a matter of it being a day that ends in “y”. MHF 38: With Morten Harket, who needs good weather? MHF #39: In that infamous scene in “When Harry Met Sally”, Meg Ryan was thinking of Morten Harket. It wasn’t fake. MHF #40: You can’t say “Morten Harket” without saying “more”! MHF #41: The time travel scenes in the “Angel In The Snow” video aren’t camera tricks. Morten Harket actually did that. MHF #42: Edward Cullen is on Team Morten. MHF #43: We do not have breakfast because we are thinking about Morten Harket, We do not have lunch because we are thinking about Morten Harket, We do not have dinner because we are thinking about Morten Harket, and then we cannot sleep because we are hungry! MHF #44: Morten Harket uses the sun as a mirror. MHF #45: Morten Harket is keeping you here. MHF #46: Morten Harket’s eyes aren’t as blue as the sky, rather the sky is doing its best to come close to his color. MHF #47: Morten Harket could kick Chuck Norris’ a**. This isn’t because he’s stronger, necessarily, but because even Chuck doesn’t want to mess up that face. MHF #48: Morten Harket doesn’t use product in his hair. It just does that. MHF #49: Morten Harket doesn’t get sick, sick gets Morten Harket. MHF #50: “Holy Ground” is not only the name of a song, but a description of Morten Harket’s bedroom. MHF #51: Morten Harket doesn’t need a poker face. Everyone else loses just to see him smile. MHF #52: You’ll never get over Morten Harket, but if you’re very lucky he’ll get under you. MHF #53: Morten Harket can sing with his ears. MHF #54: Morten can turn you into a thief. Once you meet him you want to steal his heart. MHF #55: Morten has been living in my heart and mind for years and he does not pay rent. MHF #56: Morten Harket: The REAL real meaning of the sun. MHF #57: There is no scalp under Morten Harket’s hair - only more glorious, glorious hair. MHF #58: Chuck Norris can believe it’s not butter, but Morten Harket can MAKE IT butter. MHF #59: The Palme case is not actually unsolved-Morten Harket knows who did it. But because his knowledge is divine rather than evidentiary, the police can’t use it. MHF #60: Morten Harket’s charisma can be seen from outer space. MHF #61: Ellen Degeneres is straight now; she just met Morten Harket. MHF #63: Clearly, Morten Harket can hypnotize you with his eyes. Lesser known fact: he can also hypnotize you with his eyebrows. MHF #64: Morten Harket can play the cymbals with his pectoral muscles. MHF #65: Morten Harket is a national treasure. No matter what country you’re in. MHF #66: One does not believe in love at first sight until you meet Morten Harket. MHF #67: Morten Harket knows his job isn’t done until she hits the E5 note from “Take On M”. MHF #68: There are two kinds of men: Morten Harket and the rest. MHF #69: Morten Harket is like a good cup of coffee… good, rich, hot and just like coffee, he can keep you awake all night long. MHF #70: Morten Harket is considered the eighth wonder. MHF #71: Morten Harket is like a portable heater. MHF #72: One time, at band camp, Morten Harket sang all the instrumental parts to Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. He got a standing ovation. MHF #73: While making the “Summer Moved On” video, the producers considered using video tricks for the effects of the sun rising and falling. In the end, though, it was easier just to have Morten Harket move the sun himself. MHF #74: Morten is a macho who does not have to prove mucho. MHF #75: Morten Harket is the best cure for a broken heart. MHF #76: Jesus can turn water into wine, and Morten Harket can turn anything into sexy. MHF #77: Morten Harket could probably walk on water, but don’t encourage him to try-wouldn’t we rather see him dripping with it? MHF #78: Sex without Morten Harket’s love is like food without taste. MHF #79: The secret to a happy marriage remained unanswered… Until Morten Harket was born. MHF #80: Since Morten Harket came on the scene, God has had to get used to women not speaking to him as often. MHF #81: If you sleep with Morten Harket, isn’t it redundant to say you saw God? MHF #82: Morten Harket doesn’t get mad, and he doesn’t get even. He just gets more handsome. MHF #83: Morten Harket’s “treasure trail” leads to real treasure. MHF #84: Morten Harket’s body is a wonderland. MHF #85: Only Morten Harket can prevent forest fires. MHF #86: Morten Harket’s voice can repair shattered crystal. MHF #87: Morten Harket’s smile is a weapon of mass distraction. MHF #88: If Morten Harket has a bald spot, you can bet he’s got a damn good reason for it. MHF #89: If Morten Harket were to drink a liter of Diet Coke and immediately swallow a packet of Mentos, all that would happen is he could belch the long note from “Summer Moved On”.
