So this shows that they hadn't been able to wash because of the water shortage, but Geraldine is later shown having had a bath or shower after Jim took over the protest from her - what happened?

When David shows him how much compensation he'll get for his farm he says 'You're right, Dave - Dibley's a dump!' Wonder if that was meant to be a nod to Only Fools?

One thing always puzzled me about this episode: If there was a water shortage in Dibley, why didn’t they just all go to the nearest town without water shortage and with a public bath. Everyone have to shower first before going into the pool anyway, so two birds with one stone...
