I would like to thank you Michael for pointing out one of the most important features of this preamp. In fact, IMHO, one of the most if not the most, important thing when I design audio toys. Which is allow the listener to emotionally connected to the music. The attitude knobs as Michael put it allow the user to adjust their music to where it is more emotionally connected. The attitude knobs have been dubbed as "seasoning knobs" and "personality knobs" by others. No matter what names they have been given, they serve only one purpose.

The phrase, "Music as the artist intended" got started as a marketing strategy.

Angela-Gilbert Yeung is a living legend! Genius audio electronics designer/builder, originally from Hong Kong but many years in Canada. I gather the super-cap packs take things to a whole, new level. You’ve been raiding the piggy-bank lately!

The whole concept behind those two controls is fascinating to me. After learning about them a while back, I immediately realized I could see them being useful to any audiophile. I almost always have gear/ speakers coming in and out of my place. It's possible something like this could put an end to that. (lol, ok THAT won't happen; I'll always buy gear/ speakers. But those controls sure would be useful to dial things in just the way I want 'em)

So true about what the artist intended. I’ve heard interviews from producers, engineers, artists where the recording was finished, the artist is back on the road, and after hearing the final product, the producer feels it needs something, so they bring in a pedal steel player (for example) and add one more track to fill out a part of the song. At the end of the day - as you say: does it move you or not?

The designer's name is actually Angela-Gilbert Yeung, formerly known as Gilbert Yeung.

Hi Bill - that is correct. On the unit (as seen in my pic) it says Gilbert Yeung. I wanted to make sure I said what was on the unit itself.

Hi Bill: I go with either way. Both names are ok to me since I am a mixture of both.

@@MichaelsHiFiAdventures There is going to be a line of products which bear the name "Angela Yeung" in the near future. They are going to be my farther out of the box designs.

The C312 really is a game changing preamplifier that can change your perception of what you consider high end audio to be or what is possible. I do wish there was a little more talking on the capacitor pack and sound comparisons to similarly priced components.

Hi and thanks for your comment. Usually my videos run longer than this one however much of the feedback - and channel analytics - show people prefer when I do the shorter format such as this one. I'm still trying to strike a balance on content vs time. Other reviews have spent a lot of time talking about the spec and capacity pack yet I feel they didn't really cover what I feel is the game changer part - so I focused on that in this video. Also, I typically run a VAC integrated and am not set up with multiple pre-amps lying around to compare with. Thanks again for watching and the feedback.

It is so true what you said about listeners who make comments about 'what the artist intended'. lol The end result in home listening is never the way the artist or engineer wanted, exactly. And the end result is so room-dependent that it varies (sometimes quite drastically) from home to home to home.

What the artist intended. David Bowie admitted that he was never able to reproduce in the studio the sound he had in his head.

Nice “review”. Music is subjective. We all hear things differently. Being able to tune to your enjoyment is one of the best parts of building a home audio system. Enjoy the pre!

The only way to hear it as real as can be is to use top notch pro gear ! Same as artist uses ! Does not sound like the so called ultra high end gear sounds.. 😮😮😊

A Studio sound is a boring analytical sound that I would never want in my house. Even my recording engineer friends all have systems that sound nothing like their studios.
