It was lovely to meet Alex and Pinja on trail, very strange coincidence, they had been watching our pico grande previous video (which starts from the same point) that morning, and then saw us there, they must have thought we lived up in the mountains ⛰️😂🙈. Pete enjoyed his refreshing swim, and i enjoyed my paddle (i for regret not going in now!)😊👍. The drone practically flies itself up there, plenty of space and gorgeous shots everywhere, Pete had great fun with it in Madeira😊👍. The bar really was something special, the refreshing passion fruit beer, those views! We stayed there a little longer than planned 🤩🍻. A pretty perfect day! They had been watching our pico grande video that morning, which took the same part of the trail, they must have thought we lived up there 😂🙈. Guys apologies, we were sure we had replied here, but either we hadn't pressed send, or the you tube gods have made it disappear again 😮. Anyway, thanks so much for these fab comments and for giving this a watch. Hahaha yes, i (Shell) was rather impatient for a cold beer that day!😂🍻. Not a bad idea to sack the hike off and head for the bar Rach, but Pete was having none of it! 😂. Was so cool to meet Alex and Pinja, that has never happened to us before, and for it to be in such a remote location, and for Alex to be from scouseland too, mad coincidence!😊👍. The scenery on this hike is some of the best we have seen anywhere, just gorgeous 😍. The bar!! What a view from a beer garden this was! We may have enjoyed more than one beverage, never wanted to leave! But the beautiful little kitty was there to cheer us up as we left (we actually said at the time 'Rach and Wills would love you'😻). Totally agree, that upstairs terrace has the best views we have seen whilst enjoying a cold beer 🍻🤩. Now you have an excuse to go back to visit! The nuns Valley is so dramatic, we absolutely love it there, although a head for heights is needed😳. Thanks so much for watching, Shell and Pete😊👊👍

Hi there, Wonderful, we are sure you will love Madeira! In our humble opinion, some of the best hiking trails and scenery we have experienced. We use a satmap gps for navigation, one guide we can throughly recommend is the rother, link below. This includes lots of hikes including locations of the start / end points, as well as grades etc. We found this extremely useful, and once we had chosen our hike, it was easy to plot the route on the gps using the map in the guidebook. www.rother.de/en/madeira-7.html We also use a free app called relive which creates a fun video of the route at the end. Another thing to add, is that the route marking on trail in Madeira is superb! Almost every trail is marked with coloured flashes which is so helpful, and ensures it is almost impossible to loose your way👍
