Thank you, always good to have a bit of perspective on our beloved club. Looking back at that old photo it’s clear we were always doomed by our surroundings to be unable to expand on the existing site. Fun fact, the lunatic Tony Fernandes spent millions getting planning on the land owned by Car Giant who hate QPR and would never have sold it to us, sadly this pails into insignificance compared to the hideous mismanagement of the club under his tenure.

Thanks! Yeah the grounds position is certainly limiting, and the financial reality QPR has found themselves is criminal.

In the first few seconds, I switched off, believing that it was an automated video. A month later, and I've stayed with it. Very informative. Especially the original pictures without stands and the development. C'mon U R's 🔵⚪️

I remember doing a video on Loftus Road about three month ago. I have been outside the ground, but never inside. I went to the club shop and bought a shirt because I thought "why not". I've never heard anyone call it Loftus Road Stadium before though, everyone just says Loftus Road.

I’ve always wanted to go myself! I live in Canada so it hasn’t been possible yet but hopefully one day. And yeah I’ve always just seen Loftus Road myself, but it looks like the full name has Stadium at the end, probably for the best to drop the stadium at the end lol makes the name sound better!

In 2001 the council basically offered the land for a small fee, behind the school end, to expand to Bloemfontein Rd. Sadly the club was in administration and turned down the offer. A big pity, when we look back today, at what could have been.

I liked the old air pic, never seen that before, that was interesting. As someone else mentioned, Ellerslie Road is pronounced eeee at the end!

0:35 - It's pronounced "ELL-erz-lee", emphasis on the first syllable. ;)

That Hovel of a Ground has held QPR from progressing for Years . They have a pretty big loyal following circa 13000 . But how are they going to attract new fans!? . I used to go back in the day but stopped going 20 years ago coz of the terrible facilities. These days fans want to see football in modern stadiums with decent views and leg room. Going to football is not cheap any more even in the Championship!

I’ve always loved the look of Loftus, but in all reality if the club wants to progress a new ground will likely be in order.
