Your narrative of Lagos is blatantly inadequate, it is inaccurate, misleading and it is a misrepresentation. Firstly you mentioned Lagos being Oko, it was not. Lagos was an expanse of water which could be seen in the map at that time as it was covered by Bight of Benin. You left out the year that the Benin created EKO which meant "WAR CAMP" in Benin Language. Secondly, the presence of the Portuguese was not mentioned as to when the Portuguese arrived and what they were doing when they arrived. Thirdly, the Portuguese Firstly named Laagos after the own city of Lagos in Portugal. Lagos in Portuguese means "Lagoon". The Portuguese were trading salt and were in Naval and sea Ferring business with the Benin. It appears that you lot forgot to take in the whole Benin Empire into consideration when formulating your misinformation and misrepresentation of Lagos. The Portuguese and the Benin were trading and exchanging naval officers for training in Portugal before the British arrived. How did the British arrive? They arrived by war. They destroyed the Great Wall of Benin and took over and sent the Portuguese packing. There is a lot of discrepancies in your narrative which is misleading. The Aworis owned the whole mainland of Lagos which was forests. There is the Ijora, Iddo, Otto, Oyingbo which is part of Ebute Ricket. The Ricket family is still around. Apapa might owned by the Ijora families. Ijora was mainly covered by waters until they were sand filled and land was created. Ebute Metta was a fishing village until it was sand filled by the British and land was created. The end of Lagos was the railway line at Yaba now adjoined to Surulere. Idumu Otta, Idumu Agbo, Ereko, Isale Eko are all parts of Lagos Island. Originally Lagos had two areas. Lagos Mainland and Lagos Island. Ikoyi was created when it was sand filled by the British. Victoria Island was sand filled in the 1950s. I personally witnessed that in 1958 when parts of Victoria Beach on the Atlantic ocean was pumped with a lot of water and sand filled. Obalende speaks for itself. The waters there were sand filled and land created. Sand Gross is part of Obalende and speaks for itself. Ajegunle was another story like Ikoyi and Obalende. We used to have Apapa Elemu, Apapa Marine Beach, Agbo Malu. These areas of Apapa are quite separate from Badagary. Areas outside Yaba were parts of Western Region of Nigeria. Ikeja was a Western Region of Nigeria town until the creation of Lagos State by the Military Regime that took power in 1966 during the Coup that toppled the elected government of the people through decree. Somolu, Bariga, Agege, Isheri and the rest of them were under the Western Region of Nigeria. Badagary belonged to Western Region of Nigeria. Ikorodu and Epe were parts of Ijebu kingdom until the military used their decree to annex them as parts of Lagos and a new Lagos State was created. In the 1950s and 1960s, Surulere, Idi Araba, Mushin were part and parcel of Western Region of Nigeria. There is a lot misleading information in your narrative. Tinubu, Fashola, Ambode and Sanwoolu are not Lagos indigenes. They only served as Lagos State governors. Tinubu is claiming that he built Lagos. It is a lie. He didn't. Let him first and build Iragbaji first. I cannot finish because of space. Do permit some English errors and mistakes

I agree with all you wrote here except where you try not to attribute anything about Lagos to Tinubu. It doesn't matter where he or any of the other Governor's originally are from, they were sitting Governor's and took decisions based on that capacity. He wasn't Governor of Osun state so how does he do anything major in Iragbiji? That is Adeleke's duty ok. How many American presidents are originally Americans? Even African Americans? If nothing else Tinubu raised the internal revenue of Lagos to a tremendously leap from mare N600 million Naira monthly in 1999 and he created LiRS and signed the bill into law. Other institutions like Lagos metropolitan area Transport Authority (LAMATA) which has led to BRT, Lagos Blue & Red light rail and boat services, Neighbourhood corps, LASTMA, Judicial reforms, Lagos state signage Agency, LAWMA Private sector participation, Eko Atlantic city, Abraham Adesanya housing Estate, regeneration of Lagos Island CBD, Ikeja, Victoria Island, Ikoyi..Awolowo roads etc
