Thank you for this enchanting video! I would have liked to hear mention of the old Bladow (aka Bladon) fortress ruins that this Abby was built upon. For it was in the shadows of the old Bladow fortress ruin wall that the old Celt Monk sought refuge, before he even considered taking on his first student. Have you heard anything about this? Our family history states that the Bladow fortress was destroyed by a rival nobleman with the intent of wiping the family of Bladow from off of the face of the earth. The Bladow clan escaped with their lives. The castle was utterly destroyed. The family fled to an area that later becomes part of Prussia. ( This is the family story handed down to me from a Bladow great grandson son from our ancestors who came to the United States from Prussia in the 1890's. The Bladow castle, I speak of is not to be confused with a English faux-castle named Bladow Castle. The 2 Bladow sites are not one in the same. Ours is located in what is now called Malmesbury, where the old monk rested, and the other is not.) I almost cried looking at this beautiful video and your narration is superb. A visit to the Abbey at Malmesbury is on my "Bucket List"!
