Andy and Chloe are ambushed by an unseen shooter while responding to a routine 911 call!
From Season 4 Episode 12 "Under Fire": While responding to a 911 call in a park, Chloe and Andy are ambushed and Chloe is shot in the neck. Later, Gail and Oliver respond to another call, which turned out to be a second ambush; they realize a hit has been put out on 15 Division. At the hospital, Dov finds out about Chloe's past, while Oliver is kidnapped by the shooter.

easier said by someone never in a situation like that. I had a friend in the military who went through a real life situation like this where it was a dead body but when his unit arrived to investigate they came under fire & then when more support arrived a bomb in the body was blown. The body had been turned into an IED. There's videos all over of simple everyday things that shouldn't raise suspicion are turned into violent events.

Gregory Smith directed this episode, and he did a brilliant job! The way Andy turns around, the gun shot still echoing, and then sees Chloe standing there, bloody and all pale -- that's just great camera work.

I understand this is a show but how does someone land a shot to the neck and cant hit the other cop who is standing still?

For a untrained marksman it is actually pretty accurate and distance plays a big role as errors extend being off target. your first couple shots will be most accurate once you find the range. the first hit was likely a miss off targeted spot and second was adjustment for where hit was intended. After that adrenalin breathing and changing site picture and moment throw off accuracy. plus the shots were faster closer together which indicate rushing the shots. when doing 3 second rush drills to simulate these effects shots could be up to 8 inches or more off target at long distances.

Adrenaline dump from realization that the shooter actually hit a target, it happens most often in snipers as most people couldnt dream of hitting thst kind of target

@Johnston Steiner I know that for a fact, had a wrong way driver on the freeway beside my house a while back that I saw as they passed, called it in and heard no mention of it over the scanner

@Johnston Steiner Its possible that the shooter let one go to get more targets. However, the shooter appears to have dipped before even shooting at the back up so it may not be the case.

@@London_J well its kind of true thou but still hitting a moving target at range is pretty difficult i assume both officer kind of move in predictable path until one got shot that why most hunter wait till the animal stay put and long range shooter shoots at still paper or steel target at range

I love the comments about the shooters super accuracy then inability to hit anything. Never seen this show, only an occasional clip, so I am clueless as to the plot behind this. With that being said, why are people thinking that the first shot, the neck strike, was a good shot? I think the shooter almost missed and the second shot was the only good one. The third shot was panicked/rushed, and then every shot after that was going to be a miss regardless.

The plot of this episode was someone getting revenge on Oliver by targeting his friends and coworkers. Shooting Chloe and then pinning her an Andy behind the rock was the start of a series of distractions and his main goal. He didn't kill Chloe and Andy because he was toying with everyone and using them as distractions.

Couple weird things, rifle rounds would go through a standard officers vest. One more the first shot you should have hear the bullet crack when it hurt her

It may have gone through her vest but we don't see the wound as it's concealed by the vest. One of the dangers in any casualty situation is becoming fixated on one issue when the casualty has several to deal with.

@@lardface6 no, my mom was in the police force then was a public defender for those convicted of wrong while innocent. But while she was in the police force she got a call similar to this but it was a man on the playground not moving, it was really a setup to get her and her partner killed or hurt but back up was only a few minutes back and everything went correctly besides the suspect shooting himself

I've seen every ep during original run. Barely remember this. I remember Gail's brother's shame. I remember who tracy and McNally dated. Diaz had a baby. Marlo's health issues. Oliver dated a witch named cucumber? And the finale 'ceremony.'

So after watching this clip multiple times I see some good thing about the shooter that ppl complain about and then the bad things about the scene Like for one they are wearing soft body armor anything above a pistol caliber will go through thst for the most part especially sniper rounds but some good stuff the shooter was inexperienced and that’s shown by inaccurate shots that only made contact twice and weren’t well placed and not policing his brass

That really freaked me out! I had this moment when I thought it was part of the attack. I was like “HOW did he hook her like a fish?!” Totally threw me. I wish tv would drop the ‘bullets knock you back’ trope. It takes me right out of the story. While they are at it the ‘grenade equals fiery explosion’ trope could go as well. What grenades look like when they explode is far more subtle and far more scary.

Personally, I thought that it was stupid prank. Toronto might be different, but here in Mass., it isn't that unbelievable for people to come up with something that elaborate just to screw with police. What follows... IMO, that was the most emotionally gripping story of the series. That first shooting reminded me of when Carter and Knight got stabbed on "ER".

@quorented Its not actually.... the Police are modelled after Toronto Police Service and shot in that city... No badges on uniforms is usually anyplace except the US

Watching Rookie Blue and now watching the Rookie You can see the similarities almost copying The light hearted but not quite dark cop show The rookies The dialogue is all the same Oh well Guess copycat is the greatest form of flattery

Ok, I know it's a horror flick but what kind of lame brain would think trying to contact the devil himself, the source of all evil would be a good plan? And on television no less. Anyone who knows anything about communication with spirits knows that if you open yourself up to communicate with spirits, there's a chance they can possess you.

I immediately expected an ambush based on how good the decoy was put together and how in the open the officers were... Ever since the Dallas shooter killed all those cops a single second doesn't go by while I'm on duty where I feel safe.

He actually did hit Andy in the vest but she was too high on adrenaline to notice it. And he never meant to shoot to kill, his goal in the episode was to wound and pin them behind the rock as the beginning of a series of distractions to get to his main target Oliver.
