Hey Stivers.. I was so happy to say hello at the Azure drop .. hope that was ok. We are homesteaders at heart and doing our best. We are in our 70's and gardening and azuring, had a freeze dryer and processed a lot of stuff then sold the dryer to recoup the $$. Your kids are precious btw.. just precious. They stood there watching the unloading and were taking it all in. Happy homesteading you guys.. keep up the good work!

Just a suggestion I hard boil eggs in pressure cooker and mash them up and feed them back to chickens for added protein and calcium, helps to cut down on feed cost. we get about 40 eggs a day right now. Thanks for sharing your life,🌻

When my chickens would slack off laying I would make them a big batch of scrambled eggs for several days and egg production would always increase to full production. I always fed oyster shell so calcium was never a problem.

@@loritanner4478 I have raised organic, free range layers on my No kill farm❤️ and have never once done anything more than toss the egg shells back into slop bucket and feed it all back to the chickens and geese. Never have they gone after their own freshly laid eggs, never. Also, my naturalpathic doctor strongly recommended my dehydrating my own hens eggs without washing out inside membrane. After dehydrated, grind to powder, encapsulate and take for the ultimate calcium supplement, better than any on the market. Do Not use store bought eggs ever as they are soaked/washed in strong bleach water!

Horseradish is super easy to grow! And it’s a perennial. I left our first batch in the ground for a full year. When we pulled it I saved some and replayed and it just comes back. I live in Ontario Canada and zero issue leaving them in for a full year Worth the 7$ for the plant since it will last me forever. Needs very little care and does great in full Sun and drout

Hi All. Love watching your videos so much happiness and joy. Jen if you don’t mind can I give you a very simple recipe which you can store long term, in Europe it’s called Mirepoix & consists of = diced carrots, Celery & onion, in Uk freeze drying machine are very very expensive ( approximately $4500). I dehydrate mine and put in a Mylar bag vacuum seal and store. We don’t have access to the large pressure canning you use in USA, mostly we water bath, Iv have done carrots and I didn’t like the texture ( many homestead groups say the same). The Mirepoix is a great way to store a basic veg mix ( which is the standard ingredients for most dishes) try a few trays and see what you think. Also try water glass some of your eggs ready for winter when your chickens don’t lay many, the are great for anything cooked, omelette, scrambled eggs, baking, ect. It’s what my nanna used too do on her farm in Ireland many years ago. Oh forgot to say try doing egg muffins for breakfast or lunch, so easy and once cooked can be frozen and then you can have a fabulous easy breakfast or lunch for the family, my chicken always helped and made their own tray with the ingredients they wanted. Much love to you all. 💕💕💕💕

But I never liked any of the canning recipes as they always tasted like BBQ sauce not ketchup. But this one really tastes like good ketchup. I will make it every year from now on. I grow all our tomatoes for all my tomato canning now thanks to Jess at roots and refuge farm. I learned how to grow them 3 years ago from her and now I can get them to ripen on the oregon coast!
