Many people considered Forza Motorsport as "unfinished" when initially released. As it is now, Rennsport is less than a 10% of what Forza Motorsport was, and they still pretend to charge us money... Insane.

Agree, I found it to be very GT7-like in its physics as well. One thing I like a lot is that when you brake or floor it in VR, your camera goes forward or backwards accordingly. It gives a good sense of how much I'm braking. I want that in all sims now.

£31.69 is such a weirdly specific price

They are taking monetization to a whole new level. Now they're asking you to pay for things in Early Access and Beta stages, which is crazy to me. Long gone are the days when a full game would come out with a bunch of tracks and cars, where all you had to do was buy the game and enjoy. The good things about all this is, no one is forced to pay for any of it.

I’ve tried a few times to play. Can’t get the wheel or feedback correct Most tracks don’t load, or let me start driving. No triple screen support Just can’t be arsed to waste time on it

Am about to jump back into sim racing after a very long hiatus, and Rennsport is the title that's really grabbing my attention for some reason. First of all I think it looks pretty gorgeous- the subtlety of the Unreal 5 lighting, sharpness of textures and attention to detail is really impressive... I picked up Automobilista 2 and the tracks reminded me of pCars- something about them feels generic, though I love the weather and time of day system. Then I like the idea of a free to play, with easy access to multiplayer racing. I would be happy to pay for a Nordschleife after I've spent a good amount of time on the other tracks doing time trails and races. And that track really looks properly insane- probably the best version in any sim, including ACC. 'Owning' cars seems very odd to me and I have no desire to do so. I somewhat hope people embrace the monetised livery options as that should help support the game... pay what you feel depending on the amount of hours and enjoyment you're getting. I don't see harm in it other than people being frustrated by animated liveries. I want the physics to be solid. Car handling, ffb.. that's the main event. I'm still getting my wheel delivered so I can't speak to the physics, but I would like this game to have a good reputation in that department. It's 2024 and people are still talking about old games like RBR and LFS as the pinnacle of vehicle physics, which is a bit of a shame.

I can't figure out why Rennsport exists. It feels like "just another GT3 sim". Why is it better than ACC? Is it TRYING To steal ACC users?

Compare eVIN to skins and not NFT. Nothing to do with NFT, not even apples to oranges but apples to wrenches comparison

I just don’t get it. It’s absolutely greedy and it’s not cheap for those founders packs. It’s actually very disturbing how these developers have the nerve to ask for money with a totally unfinished product. Those founders packs alone can cost as much as a complete game. And they will keep charging for every track or every car as time goes on. These type of additional charges will keep on adding constantly and soon you will be paying more than a couple of hundred dollars altogether for upgrades etc. So which car and track are they going to charge next, when it was supposed to be part of the game in the first place? This type of behaviour needs to be stopped. The biggest issue is how slow and sluggish Rennsport feels compared to other similar titles. The game feels like it’s scrolling at a rate of lower than 30 fps and the driving just feels absolutely sterile and bland. There’s absolutely no sensation of speed which is so critical for a sim racing title The ffb is a mixed bag and there doesn’t seem to be any suspension modeling. When you steer left and right, the car feels like a solid block much like an experience you get in an arcade title. The physics are way worse than GT7, no comparison. You cannot even compare this game to GT7, as GT7 is miles ahead of the competition in terms of what it offers and they don’t go and charge for every single track or new car. Graphics are a mixed bag (orchard street is nice, Spa seems weird around the edges with areas being modeled higher) and road textures are kind of bland on some tracks and there is noticeable pop in of trees and other elements. The car models themselves seem a bit flat and they lack the detail which other sims offer. The damage modeling on the other hand seems excellent from a visual standpoint. The one thing this game does do very well is how easy it is to hop online and there are many people in these races. The load times I will add are quite good, way better than LMU. Plus I like how you can just qualify and race. I generally hate it when certain games have practice sessions that take so long, and tie up the server. They should just remove it altogether as you can just “practice” offline. Just do the one shot qualifying and just race. And I don’t understand why they don’t do it like battlefield and have like preset races with automatic rotation of maps. If only LMU has more scheduled or unscheduled races or adopt a system similar to Rennsport for the online component. Nobody mentions this but I think Driveclub was one of the very first titles I have experienced that had these scheduled races and it was done quite well.

If we can see some Aussie representation (Tracks & Cars), I may spend my dollarydoos. Otherwise, I'll just stick with Forza.

Alot of these sims need to stop using players to fund their development to finish their games, and if theyre gonna do that they better not charge more than 20 dollars. Alot of these devs see idiots pay for Iracing subs/content and say hey we can milk idiots too .

I thought of NFTs when I saw the eVIN stuff too, but looking on their site it seems like they are using that system to track performance of a car across its life. That tells me at some point they want to have a marketplace where people can sell their cars, probably for real money. "Come buy my Porsche, it won the so-and-so Championship." And that would be tied to the car forever. So you either buy a brand new car with a new, blank eVIN, or spend money to buy someone else's car with stats attached to it. Seems just about as dumb as NFTs honestly, as I imagine stake-holders would just buy up "rare" or accomplished cars and hold onto them expecting values to rise. If I can go buy a brand new Porsche, why would I want to buy the super special Porsche that has XX wins already attached? It's so silly and now my head hurts.

You surely are right about the NFT part, for example there was a game being playable in a test version on Steam and recently they stopped it saying they'll focus on the final version and such and that it will be Epic Games exclusive. Do you know why ? Because they have added NFTs into the game and Steam doesn't authorize games with NFTs or such in their store but Epic does so the fact the beta of Rennsport is exclusive to Epic Games surely is because of this and the car owning whatever thing. The game i was talking about is called Shatterline by the way

Can you fully test the G Pro wheel from Logitech as in the closed BETA the force feedback was so underwhelming I gave up on the game as honestlky had not felt such numb feed back in a game like I diod with Rennsport in years, but now they say they are coming to steam im intrested again

Physics and ffb are better than LMU, and AMS2. Its a combination of rfactor2 ffb and raceroom physics💪

its time to start boycotting all these creators that makes games yearly, with few changes and charging ppl 70-100$ with every so called new game. or those that make u buy them season passes to be able to play the game ! .. or like now on PSN.. some games cant even play if you are not higher tier subscriber ! low tier is not enough for them now ! :D so.. I just dont play any games that asks me to buy some extra psn network subscription :D Im not losing, they are !

IN ANY RACING GAME/SIM, ALL TRACKS SHOULD BE AVAILABLE AT LAUNCH AND FREE!!! CARS SHOULD ALSO BE FREE WITH A GRIND SYSTEM TO UNLOCK CERTAIN VARIANTS ETC. ACC FOR EXAMPLE IS A DISGRACE THAT YOU HAVE 12 TRACKS IN THE MAIN GAME " THAT YOU'VE ALREADY PAID FOR!!!!! " AND THEN THEY DRIP FEED TRACKS THROUGH MULTIPLE ADD ONS THAT COST A FORTUNE, SHOCKING, AND THAT IS THE REASON I SOLD ACC AND BOUGHT GT7 WHICH IN VR BLOWS ACC OUT OF THE WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can’t find Rennesport on Steam, am I doing something wrong?

I am not sure why I want to purchase cars I can freely drive. I do not care about the badges and getting two skins and a track for 70 dollars is sad. And does this beta have multiplayer? I do not seem to be able to get it to work. I definitely like the game and want to support it, but they are not giving me a good reason to.

Tbh i was ready to buy a founders pack the day before the open beta dropped, just cause of seeing vids of it. Then I played it for a couple of hours, have not played since, have not purchased.
