The legendary Rita Hayworth sizzles with sensuality and magnetism as she sings "Put the Blame on Mame" and delivers a dazzling performance as the enticing temptress Gilda. In the story of GILDA, Johnny Farrell (Glenn Ford) goes to work for Ballin Mundson (George Macready), the proprietor of an illegal gambling casino in a South American city, and quickly rises to become Mundson's main man. All is well until Mundson returns from a trip with his new bride Gilda - a woman from Johnny's past. Mundson, unaware of their previous love affair, assigns Farrell the job of keeping Gilda a faithful wife. Fraught with hatred, Gilda does her best to antagonize, intimidate, and instill jealousy in Farrell- until circumstances allow him to get even.

All of the Hollywood starlets were so gorgeous back then. No Botox fillers. No bull shizz.. just make up mixed with natural beauty….
@McKay2
@McKay2 Жыл бұрын
@@kristymaufroy2405Ehh…she might not have had fillers, but a big part of her identity as a studio darling was that they transformed her from Margarita Cansino to Rita Hayworth. The major procedure she had done as part of the studios requirement was a year of electrolysis to raise, and change the shape of her hairline so she would appear more Caucasian. She also had to bleach and dye her naturally dark brown hair red. It might not be fillers and Botox. But Hollywood was every much as image-conscious then as they are now.

Any haters. The artificial look goes so far. No lipo no injections Yes. Her hairline was pushed back. That’s because the widows peak looks good on almost anyone. Man or woman. It shapes the face. She never had a nose job etccc even if she did who cares. She is pure radiance. And Fred Astaire said she was his BEST partner. That’s a dancers physique.

@@TheRapnepTragic and traumatic, especially the part about her incestuous abusive father. It really explains a lot about her life. And she died of Alzheimer's disease, which was when I first heard about the disease (I was a child, and had never heard of it before). Perhaps though, it was a blessing for her to begin to lose parts of her memory, erasing some of those early, horrible memories of abuse.

@sakitoby1581
@sakitoby1581 Жыл бұрын
A "meet cute" is a scene, kind of cutesy or cheesy, in which a man & woman meet each other for the first time, like in a romcom movie or something. Or even irl you could have a cute little story about how you met your partner and call it a "meet cute". I guess they found this one horrible because she flicked a lit cigarette onto him.
