I like that endless mode is the character's punishment for not properly setting up the house. You see the whole time you carelessly "fix" the electrical sockets. Pretty neat setup.

I love how unphased Manly is by everything that is happening. "Oh, hellfire? Well I guess I will need a different flooring to match the aesthetic".

You know, the ending made me realize how much I like the idea of a Lovecraftian being or an eldritch abomination that's dedicated to dispensing justice among mortals.

For a second I thought we are going to be stapling some squirells, but the horror turned out to be real life

I do like the hell entity basically saying "As punishment your are trapped here until the end of time", immediately followed by the "ENDLESS MODE UNLOCKED" popup. Pretty clever.

I love how the voice subtly changes when the helpful beaver (I think it's a beaver?) asks you to check the socket. For every other task it uses a cheerful voice. 'Fix the floor! :)' 'Clean up the bodies!! :D'. 'Check the sockets, asshole, or face consequences

I woke up at 3am and couldn't fall back asleep...Manly comes in clutch with something for me to do.

I wonder if the character is related to the person who decided to have the mains water pipe go over the fuse box in my brothers garage?

Manly is litterally my sleep aid. The voice is just perfect. Not too over the top and not too dead.

I love the idea that this guy gets stuck in some hellish pocket dimension under his new house and just goes “🤷‍♂️ fuckin floor ain’t gonna install itself”

This game should have an endless mode but instead of the horror coming up we just fix up the house for hours and hours… Holy shit they have it

Imagine Manly introducing the house to the future owners like " I got rid of most of the skulls, sorry. Oh yeah, we also got the backrooms, I changed the flooring to fit in the whole hell aesthetic, and also so your victims will also appreciate the job I did, cause y'know, it's kinda the last thing they'll ever see, anyways, how much will I get payed?'"

This game didn’t even have to go horror to be enjoyable.

I'm guessing the lore here is that the player character cut corners to stay in business which led to a family dying in a preventable house fire due to bad wiring

I like how after entering the "Minecraft" room Manly pulled up a screwdriver almost instantly. 🤪

Calm horror gameplay, isn't that just a regular manlybadass video then? Your videos are always so soothing to watch and listen to.

The endless mode isn't endless btw, it's basically just a slightly more upfront version of the game. The sky starts red, but the fire pics that appeared don't now, and the last room has no red fog.

1:04 - Having being shocked before, THAT is scary to me. I actually flinched. Maybe it doesn't make sense to be wearing rubber gloves everywhere, but I wish your character had worn one.

I have a theory: Alive: this is a dream where you are relapsing the trauma of being trapped in a burning house and suffering from the guilt of it and the house is falling apart due to the fire and so secret passageways are being revealed. Edit: I feel that because of the images, the root cause of the fire was a broken electrical socket. Dead: you died in the burning house and are stuck in a purgatory of guilt; you are remembering other parts of the house as you renovate but before you died you were trying to find the exit and this is the same route you took to try and find it. Sorry for how long this is but thank you for reading it

The scariest part to me was Manly's choice in flooring. It made me squirm the same way a Spider would.

So glad to have a normal video that features a normal person renovating a normal house with normal methods! Looks like a nice, relaxing, monster/abomination/demon-free time.

It's funny how this game keeps emulating my life. I scroll for any game that looks interesting, and I open a tab of each one until there are like 80 tabs, so it's ready to go when I need it. I just got back from a home reno project, and I clicked on this one.

The handyman was trying to renovate and flip a property that had asbestos and died in the middle of doing the job from asbestos poisoning. The job he did before, he didn't check the outlets, which caused an electrical fire.Thats why the beaver emphasizes "check the outlets" more aggressively than all the other tasks.

I actually think the idea of buying a home for a remodel only to find out some really freaky stuff went down in said house would actually be a very interesting video game tbh kinda like the set up of the movie Barbarian though that didn't take the turn I thought it would....still a good move and I really liked this game as well

This reminded me of the The Towering Inferno, a 1974 movie. Although the movie was dedicated to Firefighters, the same thing essentially happened. Someone decided to go cheap & lives were lost due to a raging fire. Spoiler Alert, the guy that decided to be cheap on the buildings electrics meets his end due to his own negligence. I've never seen the movie beginning to end because it's too sad. I'm not a fan of disaster movies, I feel too much dread. Although I've seen a good portion of it & my grandmother has told me what I know of it, including the ending. Great movie, nonetheless. This game just took me back to it, given the story. I enjoyed it.

Were it not trapped in an eternity of suffering in hell, this house would be quite popular. Nice variety, a surprising amount of room, it comes with a unique ambiance that you're not gonna get elsewhere on the market.

I think that this is about a man who decided to reno his house himself this caused a fire due to an electrical shortage and killed his family, it was decided it was a freak accident and he decided to keep doing renovations but one day, he forgets his absetos gear and kills himself due to fumes. His last moments filled with delirium until his brain fades out, the last thing he thinks of is the ash and fire from his family's home burning.

I feel like we learned a lot about how manly built his own home here. Lots of good advice too. Never thought about combining the work and killing rooms, but that really does kinda fit the vibe of the room.

I guess pulling an all nighter does have it's perks. You get to catch Manly's videos early for one...

I do like the idea of a horror game based on construction work. Hell could even become an action or survival horror game where you use different tools and equipment to survive. Hell could go cheesy schlocky horror and just have the main character be forklift certified lmfao.

As an art major, I feel the need to point out that the painting you straighten at 5:48 is “The Barque of Dante” a.k.a. “Dante and Virgil in Hell,” by Eugène Delacroix. Very fitting! I’m sure all the other paintings are famous too, but I haven’t been able to get a good enough look to figure out what they are. (Which has been driving me crazy throughout this video. I’m too distracted to notice the corpses and brimstone, trying to recognize those paintings.)

Spackling a tear in reality in the wall seems fitting I’d probably go with a butterfly drywall patch though. But it is a brick wall…
