It starts off with criminals setting up a pretend accident, a car stops to help. The men jump up and hit the chauffeur, they drag a man out of the car and knock him to the floor. A briefcase is stolen and the men jump into a getaway car and drive off.
Various shots as a policeman leaves home in the morning. There is a look at the work of river police on the Thames, including a search for a gun in the water.
We see the police driving school at Hendon, various shots of cars and motorcycles on manoeuvres. A driver learns to follow a getaway car on a slippery course, there is a lot of skidding about.
Various shots of traffic patrol at a crash, helping injured man and setting up warnings for other drivers.
Mounted policemen and some on foot search Epping Forest for a little boy who is missing, a man finds a cap. Various shots of a policewoman talking to the anxious mother, she identifies the cap as his. They bring the police dogs out and search at dusk. They find the boy on the floor, a policeman helps him up and speaks to him.
