Tbf I was skeptical of A1 animating this because manwha art had really deep and vivid colors and A1 doesn't do that in most of their shows (ironically SAO underworld actually kinda did which was incredible). It's still not where I would like the colors to be (although if they nail shadows I don't care) but in terms of the actual animation I am impressed by A1 they got so good over last 10 years.

So true did you know in the ending chapters of the manhwa Igris has internal dialogue from that fight. Good thing it was saved till later on. Which if included would have gave away so much.

Details left off that some people might ask about: Jinwoo was weak compared to Igris, but when he was on the throne, he used that opportunity to hold his sword (with his recent armour), he used all his strength to throw Igris sword away, stabe him in the eye with his ability "fatal strike" (which gives critical hit in weak spot) and pushed Igris against the wall, then he proceeded to use almost ALL of his mana with multiple "Fatal Strike" (cost 70 mana) + his passive ability of "Dagger proficiency" which gives him 33% all stats when using daggers, he got both of those abilities in episode 10 (last ep). You can call that plot armour but I call that luck and right use of opportunity.

I don't think it's even plot armor. He's using the abilities and tools at his disposal and he even admitted afterwards he got lucky. Most other shows make it look like the hero straight beats an opponent. This manwha/anime lets you know when he barely survives

@@babyyyz7948i hope michael will not read this but since you wanna know ill explain, major spoiler anw. igris is one of ashborn army, ashborn is the shadow monarch. after ashborn decided to retire and find a human successor of him(this is also the reason why system is exist), he tasked igris to test his successor in battle when the time was right. jinwoo supposedly becoming necromancer after this change job quest, but since he completed all the tasks he ranked up to shadow monarch. after becoming shadow monarch he got shadow extraction skill. shadow extraction allows its users to revive a slain beast or hunter as a shadow soldier. previously, jinwoo tried to extract Igris twice but he failed. and then jinwoo look at the empty throne and talk to igris "stop guarding an empty seat... how about you protecting me" and then jinwoo uttered a single word "arise" which is the tittle of the next episode. and he finally succeeded to extract igris and igris become his first shadow army commander. this is where the real story of shadow monarch is begins. igris is loyal, respectful, and chivalrous, to the point that he tends to kneel to his master every time he finishes a battle for him.

Jinwoo got dribbled like a basketball lmao, I really felt bad for jinwoo back there. Also I felt like Igris ditching the sword, cape, and daggers made him alot faster but still if jinwoo proceeded to fight him with the greatsword he'd be sliced into fine meat cubes midair with that combo. Note that the reason jinwoo was able to catch that greatsword was because the gauntlet he was wearing has a chance to nullify all damage

I love how in this particular quest it wasn't about stats or skills, but rather about raw willpower. Whoever was willful enough to beat the holy smokes out of his opponent was on top in this fight and this is sick. It's not like Jinwoo entered some high-level dungeon and he's not strong enough - quest by itself started only because he is *strong enough*

The job-change quest says "Survive as long as possible to earn advancement points that are required to be assigned a higher class." I can't wait for the last episode, it's gonna be so fire. I know it's just a tiny detail but in the manhwa i guess Igris was dragging his greatsword as he was walking towards Jinwoo.. That could've been much more badass..Other than that, A-1 pictures cooked🔥🔥🔥

In the manhwa, the reason how he survived Igris' Coup de Grace, was because of his gauntlet. Here, it doesn't say anything about the equipment. Stat-wise, it's mediocre, but the bonus effect makes the wearer's hand unable to get injuries. The author is playing coy with us, but basically it means, the gauntlets makes your hands practically invulnerable. 😂😂😂 Just the hands. 😂
