** Anpuds 1/4" Torque Wrench Giveaway**
After 27k hard miles on my KTM 390 Adventure it is finally time to change the clutch. I am hard on clutches and I have abused this one. I have purchased a replacement clutch pack and will go through the steps of replacing the clutch on this bike to hopefully get another 30k miles out of the bike.
Here is the list of tools you will need to do this job:
10mm socket - Clutch Springs and plate
1/4" drive or 3/8" drive
12mm wrench - clutch barrel adjuster
14mm wrench - clutch barrel adjuster
6mm hex - brake pedal
Screwdriver
Torque Wrench
If you need a torque wrench and didn't get the giveaway, here is a link for you.

I was informed the clutch case bolt torque settings are 12Nm as listed in the manual. I missed this in the manual when I looked for it. Thank you viewers who pointed this out. The torque wrench was claimed. Thanks for watching.

Great job showing the clutch basket and parts you were working with all times. I cannot count how many how to videos I clicked off because the person put their body between the camera and what they were doing. Very nice work here. - Frank

You might already know this Matt. Seeing how hard you are on your clutch you might consider keeping 3 old spark plug washers in your tool pack. In an emergency you can install them under the springs to add a little preload enough to get you home.

That is a great tip. I should also carry a small piece of leather string I can install into the clutch pack if I am really desperate. Thanks.

Hey matt just so you know, you can figure out the torque of a nut by loosening it with a torque wrench, you increase the NM little by little until it pops, IT IS IMPORTANT you check the nut for any glue, if it has glue the measurement is incorrect.

Really great video Matt, should come in handy for a lot of people. You mention not being able to find the torque specs for the clutch cover bolts, I just found them in the service manual so figured I'd include them here for others that may be doing this. Manual states torque for these screws as 12 Nm (8.9 lbf ft).

does your bike have stalling issues? (just curious since it is the most issue of this bike)
@advmatt
@advmatt 2 ай бұрын
Yes, it does, it happened a out once about every other day until the valves were adjusted. Now it happens about every couple of hundred miles. I think it is due to two issues, valves out of adjustment, and it runs lean to meet emissions.

does this problem have a permanent solution? i'm planning to buy one since it's a good price for an adv bike, but i think i might reconsider my plan...
@advmatt
@advmatt 2 ай бұрын
@@sebastiahnkyle208 I was able to fix it for about 20k miles by getting the valves adjusted. It has came back more recently. The valves are in spec but I have also modified the exhaust which I think is now contributing to the occasional stall. I think if I return to the stock muffler the issues will go away.
