Yes well said. They just need to be coached on nullifying a maul. Its a tactic that needs to be taught, trained and implemented. Englands mauling only looked devastating because the Black Ferns haven't been taught and trained how to nullify it yet. Once they learn that tactic they'll be even more devastating on the field. Great game by both teams.

Hilarious given they won some alleged World cup with only 12 teams of which 75% are amateur. The tournament was based on false crowd numbers thousands of free tickets and ticket prices 1/10th to 1/20th of an All Black test yet they never had a single full house. Close for the final but not full house .

Likewise. If anyone was going to stop us I thought it would be England. You pushed us hard for the full 80 minutes and we expected nothing else. The Roses should be proud of what they did. Right until that final fumble England had every reason to think that they could win.

Both tries that Stacy Fluhler was a part of were fantastic! I actually think that the second one may have been the better one. The Sevens ladies sure added skills and open running and passing options. Beautiful. I would love to see the ABs play like that again but for now the Black Ferns are NZ's team to watch!

Stacey Fluhler you were magic. Went to the opening game against the Roos. Semis against France and the final against England. That was up there with the mens 2011 World Cup . Our NZ Wahine had to much HEART ❤️ 🇳🇿🤜

I'm so glad my daughter and I went to this game, such history to be a part of. Even though we got the win. It was a great spectacle for Womens Rugby of which the Red Roses were a part of, we also salute you.

Probably one of the best games of rugby ever. Let’s face reality, NZ are the Kings and Queens of Rugby Union. They are the main star attraction. That’s 9 World titles now, 6 for the women and 3 for the men. Congratulations on the 7’s stars on completing the historic treble of Olympic, 7’s World and 15’s World titles. Gutted the red roses missed out on their third World title. Very proud of what they achieved and hope they get exactly what the men have with travel, facilities, equal pay and televised tests at Twickenham. We’ll win title number 3 on home soil next time out. 🌹

Largest frauds of all time. And of course Lydia was given a red for a high tackle on Woodman. How could it be a high tackle ? Woodman did not have the ball, if Lydia had attempted any tackle on Woodman then it would have been a offence. What it was was a collision 💥 of the ball, with a clash of heads, Lydia could not duck her head as if she was tackling because she wasn't tackling, and the question is if Woodman did not have the ball then why did she run right into Lydia ? playing for a red.

I was there, in the right side stands, and man, that was a good game. I don't know a lot about rugby (I know much more about ice hockey and soccer), but it was so worth being there, with the atmosphere and everything. I planned on going to New Zealand on vacation, and by coincidence, the final happened to be the day after I arrived, so I just saw it as a way to see Eden Park. Now I'm more interested in Rugby than ever before.

An iconic game for the ages and a real heart-stopper from start to finish with two contrastingly different teams and styles of play. There have been some real thrillers in rugby, across the board, and this is up there.

My wife and I were there at Eden Park watching the game and cheering the Black Ferns. One of the best games of rugby I have enjoyed for many years. This was a clash of styles .. the powerhouse English forwards with their driving maul against the Black Ferns attack from anywhere mentality. The English rolling maul was formidable and so was the Black Ferns attacking game. The try by Stacey Fluhler straight after half time was to me the try of the tournament and embodied the BF's gameplan. In the end it came down to a lost lineout and the BF's won for the 6th time. It was such an amazing feeling when as a New Zealand supporter it looked all was lost as England threw the last lineout only to lose it at the end. A great game by both teams and a great advertisement for women's sport worldwide. Long may it continue. Edit - just a comment on the red card. Although it was accidental it was a late tackle head on head and it knocked out one of our best players in Portia Woodman. She remembers nothing of the game which shows you the other side of what concussion can do. As far as our yellow card and why it wasn't red .. the tackle was always at shoulder level and rose higher to the head which was identified by the ref and TMO. Excellent reffing at the highest level 👌.

This final was reminiscent of 2017 final in Ireland. That was an awesome final with a very decent crowd also. Man these female competitions are more impressive to watch lately over the ABs at the moment. And a big shout out to Hollie Davidson for her exemplary refereeing.

I don't think many are arguing head-on-head has a place anywhere in the game and as such I think the yellow should have been red, too, not mitigated to yellow. (and not that it matters but I'm a kiwi and black ferns supporter for many years).

Some England fans saying because Lydia got yellow card Bferns won. Watch the 2010 final NZ had 4 yellow cards, there's a time that they played 13 and still won the World Cup. Doesn't make any difference if she stayed on because Portia would crossed the line many times. It was a great match to watch.

Boom the Black Ferns detonated that fabulous victory against all odds. Wayne Smith the maestro behind it all. I watch and replay this clip everyday as its so inspiring to see how the under dogs hung tough and managed to eek out a surprise victory. Magic.

Yeah they won a 3 team professional World Cup 😂😂. 75% of the teams were amatuer 😂. You knew 3 semi finalists before the tournament started and you knew the winner was only going to be one of the 3 only professional teams. Pathetic tournament when the likes of Fiji had to have bake sales to get there haha. No full house at any game and tickets given away by the thousands to inflate the crowds and ticket prices 1/10th to 1/20th of AB games. Yeah great WC victory lol in a 12 team comp 😆

*Been watching this game a few times, and found the most impactful players that hadn't been given much attention by the media to be that of Theresa Fitzpatrick, Charmaine McMenanim and Renee Holmes!!! The first two has an admirably calm, no-nonsense and business-like attitude in the way they focus on carrying out their roles while Renee, wow!!! Renee had been so amazing injecting herself as support back play!!! Renee is such an asset to the Black Ferns with those exciting runs, materialising from the back at the right moment, and doing everything right in her back three defensive role. The Black Ferns would have to hone up their high risks and structural set play as their rugby flair and brand going forward. When they achieve that, they would become the most formidable team to beat, not to mention their abilities to excite fans all over the globe!!! Kia Kaha Wahine Toa!!! You've made NZ and yourselves so proud!!!*

Stacey is a country girl brought up riding horses bareback in Ruatoki. Riding horses bareback naturally makes you fit and hard. Horse riding muscles click in especially in the legs. Its not a wonder then she runs like the wind. Give credit to the horses she rode they helped the muscles in her legs / body develop to enable her to be a classy rugby player. Ataahua.

It cud hv been France but for the last 90 secs.. it cud hv been England but for the last 90 secs. One of the best Semis in World Rugby against France and definitely one of the best final against England. Black Ferns totally deserved it. A great team that has the believed and the mentality that they are going to be the champion. Happy for the Black Ferns. Mine is Sarah *Terminator* Hirini her work rate is unreal, much the same in 2017 W.C Final she's a female version of Richie McCaw and lifts on the big occasions. But yes Stacey, Ruahe, Maia and many more were totally unreal!

It's a real pity about the red card. I doesn't look like the ref had any choice but it made life a little easier for the ferns.

She was one of several. I am a Black Ferns fan and I rate Amy Cokayne as a player of the day in that game too. She scored 3 awesome tries off the back of perfect mauls. Bloody awesome to be fair.

This never gets old. Eden Park is such a destroyer of international teams. I love that the mana of Eden Park was maintained through our Wahine. Their was extra-ordanary spirit in this game beyond natural skills. Wayne Smith an amazing legendary coach. The missing link in NZ All Blacks. Forget Scott Robinson, Wayne is the man we need. Black Ferns you kept the legend of Eden Park alive, my respect you are QUEENS.
