A girl I went to school with ended up with one. Her first son had cancer and the Walmart donated it to her because her son loved Dobby so much.

That is amazing! That is the coolest Dobby I’ve seen by far, the fact that it’s detailed even under his clothes (Pillowcase) just shows how much afford the artist put into it. Also Blockbuster was always fun to go to, but it was so disappointing when you had to wait almost a month to rent a movie you wanted to see lol

Peter Kenneth I love the fact that you actually have a replica of Dobby. Dobby is actually my favorite character from Harry Potter. Dobby was just adorable and like every way possible he really was. The character itself is very sweet and very loving.

My elementary school library had that Dobby life size statue on display when I was a kid! I had reached out to the librarian a few years back when I was in college inquiring as to whether or not she still had him on display. She did, and promised me that the day she left the school she would gift him to me since I am the biggest Potter fan she has known. Just last week she sent a message letting me know she had retired and I could come claim my free house elf whenever we were both available! So I will have a childhood dream come to fruition as a 25 year old! Receiving the statue, the stand, and the plexiglass for free! Incredible stroke of luck.

I was given this as a gift and displayed it in the computer lab at school. When they changed the lab I had Dobtober month where he would "appear" in different classrooms each day. The kids gave him a desk, homework and a water bottle. So much fun. He sits behind my desk right now at school.

OMG He's so cool!! I bought myself a Dobby from Build A Bear last Christmas and it's my favorite thing ever.

I agree Peter, that voice was on point! Well done. He wasn't secured by twisty ties though and he wasn't in plexiglass.I wish he was I have the entire Dobby including the original plastic cover, and stand and it is just a very thin piece of plastic that was that was actually molded like a regular box and when the stores received it they just unfolded it and put it over him with little sticky tabs to hold it in place on the box stand. Because the plastic is so old, it has long since yellowed and unfortunately cannot be restored back to the clearness. Also, I'm sure you have noticed that the paint is worn off of his nose and that is because the plastic case wasn't made wide enough and it sat right up against his nose so when people touched the plastic, or they tried to move him to another location it would rub. One other thing, I personally have never taken the sack cloth off off of mine but I once heard someone say that if you search for it on his body you will find a number on him. (Supposedly they were numbered) but I don't know. If you find one, please give a shout out and let me know where. I'd be curious to know.

1 of my favourite things ever. I really want one. You bought him for $400? wow. I've only seen them for $1000 and they were in not so great condition. Like with cracks and even missing little chunks. This one is almost perfect.

My library was lucky enough to get one when they came out, we used him for programs for years! I even drove to a Harry Potter convention with him strapped into the passenger seat! The hotel valet burst out laughing when he opened the door! 😂

I had to look you up when I saw something at AstonDrake and was like I know Peter has Dobby. I couldn't remember from where. That's pretty cool. Also no it was just VHS in 2003. I have the VHS still.

Out of curiosity, I checked Ebay and all the Dobby's like this were over 1k, one was just shy of 6k. It's really great though. You got yours for a steal it seems. Well done!! I don't remember that display in stores but I do remember getting a mini Dobby bobblehead that was a promotion for the movie and I still have it (not in the package, unfortunately). I just need to figure out where I put him. The Bradford exchange makes a 16" that is very nice. I was thinking of getting one. It doesn't have those initials on his clothes though so now I am curious what that means. If you ever find out please let us know!
