I have listened to the finest hifi on earth. It didn't cost a fortune, just was very well made. Hand made loudspeakers ( I have a pair ) and a Bruno Putzeys class D amplifier using a CD player. Simply perfect.

Probably don't sound much better than a $2000 turntable. They're spinning a piece of plastic. How difficult can it be. Turn it quietly at exactly 33.33 RPM. The most important part is a good quality cartridge. It's a wiggly groove in a piece of plastic for heck sake.

Enjoying a cup of coffee worth a couple bucks listening to a turntable worth a couple million bucks...priceless. If I were a billionaire I wouldn't buy any of them. I think that the recording equipment that presses your records and the recording devices in the studio don't add up to the price of one of these turntables. Your records aren't worth more than $30 for the most part. My Technics turntables and Pioneer sound great and haven't broken the bank. I think I saw Jimmy Page listening to a Thorens and I know that wasn't worth nearly that much. If you do like one of them and have the means to get it, go for it. It's just not for me.

I think the Nagra turn table is even more expensive. Around €168000. But who care? You can't hear the difference between them. Only for the very rich and sad people who have just to much money.

The information in this video is incorrect. E.g. the Transrotor Artus is €155k not $1m, the Derenville is £460k not £4m etc. You've multiplied everything by a factor of 10. Complete bollox.

*You will NEVER see a double blind test between two turntables where the ONLY difference is the turntable -- same cartridge, same amps, same speakers, two copies of the same recording that are randomly alternated between the turntables. Why? Because no one will be able to tell the difference if they don't already KNOW the difference. A $300 turntable will sound identical to a $300K turntable. All that blather about "fuller sound" and "wider soundstage" will vanish if people have to PROVE it with nothing but their ears.*

cd's the best. too lazy for lp's anymore. I can't even make proper coffee since grounding and transferring is too hard on me, I had to switch back to instant. can't get up to put lp's.
