The U.S. Border Patrol has been constructing border barriers for nearly 30 years and these barriers have proved to be a critical component in gaining operational control of the border. Illegal drug and human smuggling activity have decreased in those areas where barriers have been deployed. To enhance border security, the Border Patrol is making significant investments to build a new wall and replacing existing, inferior barriers. The first project completed was in in the Border Patrol's El Centro Sector in California along a two-mile stretch of border immediately west of the Calexico Port of Entry.
The Trump wall, commonly referred to as just "the wall", is a colloquial name for a proposed expansion of the Mexico-United States barrier during the U.S. presidency of Donald Trump.[ Throughout his 2016 presidential campaign, Trump called for the construction of a much larger border wall, claiming that if elected, he would "build the wall and make Mexico pay for it." At the time, President of Mexico Enrique Peña Nieto said that his country would not pay for the wall.
In January 2017, Trump signed Executive Order 13767, which formally directed the U.S. government to begin attempting wall construction along the Mexican border using existing federal funding;actual construction did not begin at this time due to the significant expense and lack of clarity on how it would be funded. In 2018-19 the federal government was partly shut down for 35 days because of Trump's insistence that he would veto any spending bill that did not include $5.7 billion in border wall funding.[6] In February 2019, Trump signed a declaration of National Emergency, saying that the situation at the U.S.-Mexico border is a crisis requiring money allocated for other purposes to be used to build the wall. Congress passed a joint resolution to overturn the emergency order, but Trump vetoed the resolution.

The Army corps of engineers wall runs in a straight line and is much further back from the river. The government wall cedes land back to Mexico. I started watching your videos because of the private wall now I may reconsider because of your attitude.

When people living in a country that has a disregard for common decency and law and order, then any other country adjacent to that border have no option but to police that border any way they like. A wall such as shown is the best way to stop intrusions or at least slow them down hugely. Walls work especially a wall as shown in this video.

20200131 115 miles reported by CBP. Another 1-4 miles of private wall has been completed. Thus the total is 116-119+ miles. There are 47 weeks left in 202 and the current build rate is a little greater than 3 miles/week. Thus 2 x 47 = 94 +116 = ~210 miles by the end of 2020. If rate increased to 3 miles then, 257, if 4 then 304, if 5 then 351 miles. if 6 then 398. If 7 then 445. If 8 then 492. If 9 then 539.
