Ironically, this HDB in Marine Cresent was also redesigned in a modern coastal style with an oceanic-themed open concept kitchen and a stunning balcony nook. Utilizing every inch of space, watch how this revamped layout incorporates subtle beachy elements while bringing space planning to a whole new level!
This Modern Coastal theme blends the sleek minimalism of the modern theme with the beachy feel of coastal design, creating spaces filled with clean lines, marine hues, and a connection to nature. First entering the home, you’re greeted with a blend of mid-toned woods, a meticulous arch display backed by beautiful blue mosaic tiles and a sense of space. Not just representational of the beach and ocean waves, it “surves” as texture and a pop of colour in an otherwise neutral palette. With the replacement of walls with glass, the unit feels capacious and becomes a further representation of its theme. Allowing the house to have an airy, light feeling, glass has many uses. Blending between the living areas and open-concept kitchen, the woody grains meet lighter beiges with a subtle sparkle. Recreating a balcony commonly seen in modern coastal themes within the confines of a HDB flat is not easy, but the corridor conjoining the kitchen and special little nature nook does just that. With every portion of the home playing a role in this concept, the serene blue shaker door cabinets, effortlessly matching water dispenser and refined shimmery tiles play their part. Honestly, this may just be the perfect summer vibe for the homebodies.
Serving the centrepiece of this renovation project: a partially open-concept room with a striking double-sided feature wall. By removing existing walls and merging spaces, we've transformed the area into a spacious master bedroom with ample wardrobe space and a stunning curved feature wall. One side provides hidden storage, while the other serves as a standout design element, creating a perfect blend of functionality and style.
