I have used Purolator almost exclusively my entire life. Most of the cars in our garage have lived on them their entire lives. Would be nice if the Red Can filters were still carried by our local Advance Auto. Only Tractor supply has the base filter for our “Million Mile Duster, Camaro and Mustang”. We bought these from Kmart starting in the late 70’s until Walmart struck and then went to Advance Auto when Walmart decided we didn’t need them and now we go to TSC. The Duster has been in the family for nearly 50 years and fed Purolator 99% of it’s life.

Our 1973 Plymouth Duster has used Purolator since day one, nearly 50 years ago.

It says silicone anti-drainback valve, but it is black.

The Purolator Boss Oil filters Cannot Tear.. They are the Only Oil Filters I Use.

I saw a filter cut open video of a Wix that had torn completely between one pleat on a 5000 mile OCI and the oil analysis indicated no harm. I suspect filtering is a cumulative process so even a small void is not a deadly offense. By the way some of those filter cutter videos end up cutting the filter media when they open the cans. All the Purolator I cut open looked perfect. No Tearing problems. I think that was a myth.
