Slight correction: the curtains showed at the middle ages bed where not just decorations. The purpose was to close them during the winter to keep warm.

@@spikethompson2000 To keep warm? You do realize that it is useful to have more than one layer of protection against the cold? And that if you live in a stone castle (before glass windows were invented) your room can get very, very, very cold.

My grandmother used to tell me stories when she was a kid, they slept all in one room, on the floor, and occasionally with a traveling stranger. And this was in the 1960s.

According to my parents, water beds also were not good at regulating their temperatures. They would always be really cold unless there were multiple blankets between the user and the bed itself. As my mom said, it was cool in concept but not that practical.

6:17 Science says to pour your milk or cream first in a hot drink. Degradation of milk proteins can occur at temperatures above 75C but adding hot water to the milk helps prevent this. If you're ordering a drink from most cafes they will add the milk first.

The downside of the Egyptian bed was the Egyptian pillow. If you haven't seen one of these you should Google it but basically it was a stone pillar with a stone arch for your head. They can also be ceramic or wood but whatever they were they had to have been very very far from comfortable.

I want a waterbed really badly because I actually love being ice cold when I sleep. I imagine the water would warm up slower than the cotton and stuff my mattress is made of.

My family had a water bed as I grew up, it was the bed for the biggest room. When I finally was able to get it it hurt my back so bad and I just couldn't sleep in the damn thing so yeah we got rid of it
