As a old man I reluctantly had to admit to my girlfriend that I seen aspects of myself there. It was nice to see the character see the light again before his passing! We sometimes get blinded by the petty little things in life and loose sight of what really matters!

I would like to prefix is comment with the fact that I am not one of those hideous AI robots. Neither am I one of those horrible fake paid reviewers!!! I laughed and cried so many times in this movie because the balance of Tragedy and comedy was perfect❤❤❤❤❤❤ In my very assertive opinion, this is one of Tom Hanks' best roles yet, apart from maybe Captain Phillips❤❤❤❤ Tthe Spanish woman was absolutely amazing as was the rest of the cast and the movie swept me off my feet and I still have tears streaming down my face at the beauty of it all. ❤❤❤ Thank you to everyone and everything that went into the making of this beautiful film, including the gorgeous cat❤❤❤❤ This was two hours of absolute enrichment to my life and I will never, ever forget this movie as long as I live😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

First I have to say we are not big movie-goers...maybe 1 or 2 movies per year in a theater. I read the book a couple of years ago, and became obsessed with seeing if there was a movie. I was so excited when I heard there would be a movie with Tom Hanks. My husband and I saw the movie last night, and it fully lived up (maybe surpassed) that wonderful book. Just beautiful! Now I am also a huge fan of Mariana. Thank you for this fabulous work!

I love Tom Hanks, but,. Once I had read "A Man Called Ove', I wanted to see the Swedish version of the movie., I did on TUBI and if you read the book, you will be much happier with the Swedish version. In 2017 "A Man Called Ove' was nominated by the Academy Awards for Best Foreign Film of the year and another nomination for another category. This is the closest to the book, and explains, through footage of Ove's childhood, and teenage years, how he becomes the person he is. Loved it, so I will skip "A Man Called Otto" Americanized version. Read the book.

Can't wait to see it! The part of Sweden's socialized medicine is actually incorrect. And it was even in the original novel. Sweden has a universal health care system, yes. But it has no authority to put people in homes against their will. The only exception is if a person is a clear danger to themselves or to others. And then we are talking psychiatric care.

The movie “A Man Called Otto” is one of those movies that will result in a double return. It’s first return will be that it will be recognized immediately as a great movie that the initial investors will be more than happy with the return on investment. The second return is that is will be a movie that will last forever. When the kids replay it for grandpa even they will have to acknowledge it is great.

Actors with a huge experience behind are a huge golden asset on teaching the acting skills young generations but we should never forget how many people need to enjoy so called old movies because they become brand new in young generations eyes. Watching Tom Hanks of his crazy comedies back in the '90s, l think we could step forward and let young performers do something better such as...how to become a Tom Hanks, giving Hollywood productions another turn because there's such an important heritage behind, all to be exploited all over again, the story of life itself, movies inspired on true life stories are my very favorite ones, the most emotional even if...not too realistic, not trying to copy real life, not exactly a life documentary . In the end, the Hollywood asset should be... follow your hearts guys, never give up manufacturing emotional moments because is the real fuel of our lives guys, l am the biggest supporter of yours, l love to use web connection to be supportive, let's build up a better humankind together guys, movies make of our lives a better place, that's for sure

What I think is a shame that Americans seem to be so averse to watching a foreign film just because it has subtitles? Because they should see the original. But I guess you're so used to only having famous people in a movie? But Rolf Lassgård is very famous in Sweden. He is a very good actor and the American people will not see it. He has actually been in a few American movies as well. But of course Tom Hanks is a good actor too.🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪

Time for a spoiler - b/c my point being it SHOULD have been spoiled- in the trailers and elsewhere. Otto - big plotline is attempted suicide. Otto was hardly a great movie. Tom hanks character was depressing which the trailer never portrayed and his son was the worst actor for the job to play the younger otto. I hated the virtue signaling of the trans character. It was like a Pepsi being placed on the table with the label facing the audience and it made no sense. Terrible movie and deserves nothing for awards, Hollywood is in a lost phase of movie making.

In the original version the kid was gay. Would that have made you happier? And his son looks just like Tom. If they had cast someone else I"m sure someone would be saying that the actor who played his son didn't look like him. The character is depressed, but he learns that he has so much to live for and becomes part of the community again, which is not depressing to me.
