there is a good reason why "independent" women have a difficult time finding mates. The higher they achieve and the more independent they become, the smaller and smaller the dating pool above them becomes. If they "date down" they will hold that man in contempt. No successful woman will marry a janitor. A successful man will marry a maid. If women can't "date up" they will say "where are all the good men?"

We actually DO want independent women. It actually turns us on when women can function without help. We hate the mindset and attitude some women have. That’s what turns us off about the independent woman. We don’t want to hear “I don’t need you” all the damn time. WE KNOW THAT! That’s why we’re with you. You find a lot of women with that independent woman attitude are single or can’t keep a man.

Let me give you a sports analogy. Do you want to pick someone for your team that thinks they never need to pass the ball, never needs to strategize a defense with the rest of the team, and will only look at the rest of the team as being in their way? Or would you rather pick a teammate that is looking to compliment their strengths with the rest of your team’s strengths? Men aren’t saying (metaphorically) that they want a teammate who sucks so bad that they have to win in spite of. Just watched these women tear down good advise ... The man clearly said ain't no man want a woman who is all the way (100%) independent. A man wants to provide and protect for his woman that by no means mean that a woman cannot have her own. Women, don't ever be conned into 50/50 man/woman relationships. If relationships would be 50/50 that would mean man and woman are equal which never was, never is and will never be.

Not everyone wants to be with a man like him. I most certainly would hate to be. Adrienne said it best. I believe that we all have to be independent in an amazing way so that if things go down, we still have a great part of ourselves to rely on. However, we have to depend on our spouses in a way too. At some point in your relationship, you'll be weak and he'll be strong, vice versa, and it's good to depend on each other in those moments, because as humans, we are not meant to be in solitude. It shouldn't mean though, that if they leave, you will sink. P.s. I'm super independent. I'm strong, I run a successful business, and organisation. My husband is most definitely the realest man I've ever known, and he isn't threatened one bit. Because REAL men aren't. They see what you bring and they're secure enough to know what they bring is invaluable too. They don't need your light to be dim so theirs can shine.
