‘I wish that my son Geunwoo dies 1 day before me’
This is a story of a mother who’s been raising her son who was diagnosed with ‘profound’ level of mental retardation for 20 years, and her son who lived behind bars for 15 years. Her son Geunwoo is 23 years old, but was diagnosed with ‘profound’ level of mental retardation due to hydrocephalus during his childhood. Since he teared and broke everything he touched, his mother had to install bars in the main room of the house for safety reasons. He is a special son who she gave birth to after 2 miscarriages and 15 years of waiting…
She considered of entrusting him to the hospital or the facility, but she couldn’t easily let him go because he was so special to her.
Everyone told her to give up on her son, but she could never give up on him.
We introduce you the story of a mother and son who depended on each other to endure hard times.

My Brother has the same illness,so I understand how his mother must've felt.We took really good care of my brother ,but he passed away at the age of 15.I really miss him.

그냥 가슴이 무너진다...직접 안 당해보고선 어머니의 그 땅이 꺼지는 막막함...끝이 안 보이는 어두운 터널같은 느낌을 이해할 수 없겠지...그래도 아들이 미소 한 번 지어주면 행복하신 어머니

Truly is. I know in most countries they would leave their child to an orphanage or throw them away if they had disabilities and can't raise them at all but you can see how much she loves her son.

지금도 지원많이 해주고 있음.우리가 잘 몰라서 그렇지.예를 들어서 농아인들 위한 무료 수화통역사등등 혜택주는거 많아요. 저 어머니도 정부의 혜택이 없어서 그런게 아니라 어머니가 아들을 직접 돌보고 싶어서 저런선택 하신것 같구요

Secondly you said what islam would do to him? as a muslim I believe that islam is the way to go to jannah and there isn’t any other way . and Allah says in quran :"be sure we shall test you with something of fear and hunger,some loss in goods or lives or the fruits (of your toil) , but give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere”. Albaqara 2:155 So we believe this life a test for us to worship allah and we must accept all the goods and bads in life and be thankful ,patience. so you have to work hard to go to jannah . May allah showering us with his mercy and forgiveness and let us see each other in jannah amen 🤲🏻 Lastly do not question my humanity the humanity is making duaa for others so they can Survival 🙂

@@aishafwz6924 but do you know or do you forget that Allah sobrano also said every disabled people Muslims AND NOT Muslims will be in paradise without any judgment ? Allah made them this way and it’s for the best in the after life :) Then, you can only say « May Allah guide his mother » and even there, in fact, Allah azzawajel also said in the quran, that some people from the book (means Torah and bible) will be true believer without any association and will be people from jennah. Not a lot but enough to be mentioned in the quran ;)

@@PinkieSugar Korea is known for being one of the worst places for disabled people in the whole world, despite being rich. Many are slaves.

@@theboujieproletariat that is not true. Korea has a long way to go when it comes to wellness for disabled, but it is definitely not the worst either. The government keeps pushing for stricter and harsher anti-discrimination laws and is investing heavily on health insurance & wellfare models for disabled people. The facilities and institutions for disabled people, though it's still much flawed, are fairly well developed too. Please do not spread misinformation.

@@dccc5388 according to studies, Korea is one of the worst countries to be disabled. The voting was done by disabled citizens, so you need to have this discussion with some disabled friends and ask their opinions, not me. I’m disabled in another country and very happy. They mostly cited socieal reasons. Other countries are much poorer, and have less healthcare and welfare options, but the fact you immediately mentioned healthcare tells me that these studies may be true. Disabled people’s first priority isn’t healthcare and welfare. We’re normally not sick, and don’t need healthcare. Our main priorities include: Accessible housing (ie housing to rent with ramps, wet rooms, lowered counters already inbuilt) Marriage and dating Children - including being able to adopt and be single parents without difficulty from state or family Employment Non segregated education Independent living arrangements Friendship and equal treatment within social settings The best way for you to find out is to borrow a wheelchair for a day and find out what happens, then reply to me.

I empthay with her. She tried really hard to have a child but turned out like this and she tried her best to raise him though. Bless this woman and maybe just maybe she can also adopt a child to fill her gaps. Her son can be cared in a special facility for the sake of them both and safety.
