A medley of 4 towers in 3 different counties, all filmed on Saturday 28 June 2014
Stourton: On paper they are dismal but are surprisingly OK in terms of sound and go. However, on our visit we found the treble bell to be handling quite quirkily. We decided to abandon the quarter peal attempt and rang a few minutes of call changes to grab the tower before lowering. On inspection, the bell was attached very precariously to the headstock and mainly held together with rust, hopefully that will be fixed soon! The fine church is set in the splendid grounds of Stourhead National Trust, well worth a visit

Stoke Trister: An OK albeit oddstruck ground floor 6 in the middle of nowhere, excerpt from the first lead of a quarter peal of Bourne S Minor.

Cucklington: A good old fashioned 6 rung from the porch, handled well and sounded good but the ropes were ridiculously long and quite dodgy to boot! Some Stedman, although the quarter fired out soon afterwards and we rang Bob Minor instead.....

Kington Magna: Another old-fashioned 5, rehung by Taylor's in 2010 and go very well, although they sound somewhat gutless for a heavyish ring. They are rung from a huge gallery at the back of the church with plenty of room for 3 more at least!
