Not a great UK entry but nice to see Ronnie Hazlehurst as always conducting the orchestra. It still sounds better than the awful songs at Eurovision now with those nasty tinny backing tracks.

It's actually a shame that some of the vocals were not correct because the song was really not bad. You sing along with the chorus straight away and the performance was good too.

I think the Orchestra didn't go with the song. A more modern band would have helped. I love this song and Samantha and her fellow girls are gorgeous 😍 xx

So would you be if the orchestra was playing in the wrong key, the feedback wasn't working for the backing singers and the front of house monitors weren't 100% so you couldn't hear yourself back and the backing singers couldn't hear to correct themselves either!

@@5Rays As I remember it, the song was written in one key, changed during production/recording to better suit Sam's voice, then the orchestra had the original version in front of them. There was only a slight difference, but with the lack of functioning feedback, the girls couldn't correct themselves particularly quickly making them initially a bit off key, that then threw the whole performance.

I think it's the poor singing by Samantha that almost ruins this performance. The orchestra sounds good here, even though they messed up a few of the other entries. In general the whole production from Rome was pretty farcial, and not just the orchestra. But still a very entertaining contest to watch. :)

escLIVEmusic1 I agree, and to be fair, the orchestra was worse for some other entries, as you say. I honestly think 1991 is one of my favourite contests - some decent songs and performances surrounded by plenty of farce! Samantha put in a better performance in the national final, in my opinion.
