Same here, have seen them all. And above are good reasons why, i like that there is this and that, i dont get bored, he doesnt try to sell and add shit to me all the time and it is not that agravating style to try to get views. He just films what he do, says how it is/how he thinks.

Hi, my father passed away last month, and he was a big fan of yours. He had stage 4 cancer, and when he was doing well, we would all sit around watching youtube with him. Thank you for your content, and keep it up. This channel and your projects were often the best part of my dad's day as he was going through a rough time.

Thanks to Alan for sharing his no longer needed equipment with OLF. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, ideas and videos. Looking forward to seeing that hooked up and running. Can’t believe the stupidity of people who think they know something trying to school people who actually do things. Wishing you and your family the best.

Hand drive nails can also have glue applied, commonly known as coated sinkers or CC sinkers(cement coated) . without glue they are referred to as common bright.

I always enjoy your videos. Especially watching you and Tim repair final equipment. I Farm with used equipment and watching your videos gives me the courage to try tackling a mechanical project that I have never done before. Most of the time it works out. Thank you! Keep The videos coming.

I would make sure the dj3000 monitor will work with a John Deere harness and sensors. Dj3000 monitors were commonly used on white planters and I was told that the Deere and white harnesses are wired differently. You might want to get a 37 pin white planter harness and sensors to go with that monitor.
@SlipShodBob2 жыл бұрын
You know you'll find the harness as soon as you get one. I spent three hours trying to find a set of odd sized gate rides and hinges that fit just the one gate the other week thought screw it they are only a few quid ordered some more went into the barn a few days later to get something else and found them sitting on the top of a box.

Like a kid with a brand new toy on Christmas day. Going push all the buttons knowing it's not hook up to planter. Going to ware it out before he even plants corn. LOL have a great day be safe.

I've nailed 100,000's of paslode nails, I usually pry the boards apart a tad and run a bi-metal sawzall blade to cut the nails if I need them apart. I also nail at angles, so yeah the paslode nails really hold well.

Sensor 1 sells harnesses for planters. They make them in quite a few different combinations. Make sure you get a harness with the correct dicky john monitor end, as well as the correct ends for your seed sensors. You can contact sensor 1 directly or buy their harnesses from shoup as well

Wes I had a book but can’t find it.I think you can do more rows I had mine on a 16 row.good luck.thanks

Have same monitor, works good. It needs radar so it knows speed to give over all plant population row pop and seed spacing. Mine is on a White planter, So Agco might be able to help as well as JD. Agrinex in NY state or Ag express in IA . If you can find the right harness someone should be able to make one.

It’ll also work with a ground drive speed sensor, off of a planter wheel.

Alan is is a nice guy, sending you this monitor. hope you find your harness so you can get this set up. When you read alans letter i started thinking when i saw you the first time, because i have a ford excursion and i was dealing with some squeeking balljoint in my steering and was looking for some quick fix on that, and found your video when you was poking a hole in the rubber booth on a balljoint on your truck and i think you sprayed some liquid grease in and it went silent. And i was like, why havent i done this, and it worked like hell. Good vid wes, and good luck with your monitor, hope you get it working. Best wishes from norway.

I'm not super familiar with your dicky john monitor, but it seems similar to a deere 250. You'll need a speed source (radar or preferably GPS) it will tell you population of each row. You can set it to tell you the highest row pop, lowest row pop and average population. It'll also tell you seed spacing. The dist start and stop are for speed calibration. If your speed calibration isn't correct your population reading will be off.

spent a few hours listening to David Brandt. Big Ag and Big Fertilizer are not enthusiastic about his message.....takes money our of their cash register....and preserves the soil! Good catch to avoid paying for the vertical tillage tool! Breaking the layers of hardpan and preserving the soil with nutrients from running into the rivers will pay off. Noticed that the Universities wanted to be "nay-sayers" to David's methods......
